Delivering from the cycle

Post by DiamondSmiles »

My round is in a big residential area and for years, to save my back from getting any worse i have delivered from the cycle for about three quarters of my delivery. For the shorter roads which are closer to my pouch drop point i have walked with the pouch on my shoulder.

Absorbtion is failing in my office and many are bringing the mail back :Very Happy . Now the screws are beginning to test those deliveries which are not managing to do their absorbtion.

If they get round to testing me, can they insist that i do the whole delivery with me carrying the mail and not delivering from the cycle. I can hear the screws saying that walking round would be quicker, although i would always argue (as with the p+l trollies) that using the bike to deliver from causes less fatigue?

If you duty is not a recognised cycle delivery - then when it is tested you have to do it the official way - otherwise the figures will be wrong. It won't be that bad for you if you did cycle on a test as you are used to it, but if they increased the duty size based on that test then anyone covering it in your absence and doing if the official way would suffer.

My advice do it the official way on the test whatever you normally do. However I would also advise doing it the proper way all the time TBH.

BTW its easy to tell what the official method is - Its in your Walk Log - and it should be on the 318 as well.

Walk log?
318?
You are funny Teebs.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Have you thought about requesting a trolley?
That way your duty could be timed using the appropriate delivery methods and your back would be protected.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Thanks for the replies. The walk log book says the delivery is cycle/foot.
