Dude, be careful... we all remember the last person who got a bit too excited about giving customers choice WRT d2d.... RM sacked him PRONTO!

I believe it was my manager who claimed that if the d2d opt outs on a walk exceeded X % then there was an investigation with prime culprit being postie tipping customers off about the opt out! Now think P45!!!

Perhaps we should all e-mail BBC's Watchdog to highlight our annoyance of this junk mail, in the hope they feature it in the programme and enlighten others to the option of opting out? :dance :nana

Personally, I find it far easier to walk to the bin, deposit the "door-to-door" leaflets into its grateful bowels, than to consult an essay about how to 'opt-out'. I personally think I would have to question the mental health of somebody who goes to great lengths simply to stop a couple of leaflets falling through their letterbox. It's far less time-consuming to take my course of action. Plus, no matter how crud they are, a few of the leaflets are genuinely worth a glance.

Most importantly, lest we forget, these leaflets do contribute to keeping us in a job. They may not have a stamp on them and they may not be 'real' to some people, but they are quintessentially the same thing as everything else that we are given to deliver. Our job is to post stuff through letterboxes, I don't really see how much of a difference it makes whether it's all crap or all gold. To me, it's all somebody else's crap anyway.

my DOM said no such thing as opt out on D2D now, as all D2D is considered live mail :crazy:

i have had just one customer opt out since the old ones were wiped so your DOM is wrong.

Roger Annies - he was suspened, grilled for 5 1/2 hours, threatened with being dismissed but wasn't, instead they moved him into a "Backroom job" - eventually he retired, but not before he was off sick for a while with stress.
