Keep Changing My Tax Code

Post by JAMESMARSH1980 »

I've been working for RM for around 14 weeks now, first 6 weeks I was on Emergancy Tax and it got sorted out and got a rebate. But for the last 3 weeks They have changed my tax code 3 times, on my pay slip this week I am back on emergancy tax, I only do 24 hours a week and this is my only job. they have taxed me £70 for this week, usually it should be around £20. This has screwed me up big time as My living costs exceed what I have cleared this week after rent food etc, I contacted the number on the back of my payslip and they said I have 2 jobs at royal mail but I am only a postman and thats all I do ? Who can I speak to about this as I cant afford to live like this ! My manager wasnt interested this morning when I told him. Can anybody help me. Cheers Guys and gals

Go straight to the Union rep tomorrow morning and explain the situation, including the bit about the manager. Do this even if you are not in the Union they will still help.

Did you ask which 2 jobs they had you down as doing as it does sound like an Admin error - probably by that heartless manager.

Take your pay chits as well - last 2 at a minimum.

sorry mate your pay statements that come, or should come, on a Thursday.

About the pension did you ever work for Royal Mail before. Next time you ring ask for a supervisor if you get the same answer, also ask them what you can do as you don't get a pension and you never worked for RM before.

Its all a bit strange. Hopefully either your union rep or an admin/management bod can help.

there is possibly another james marsh somewhere else at royal mail, I recall a similar incident when a postie was sent a letter thanking him for his efforts and hoped he will enjoy his retirement. :d'oh! :d'oh!
