Been off ill with bad flu virus for 6 days (that includes day off and weekend), still feel like crap and been asked by manager to go into work tomorrow morning for a illness management meeting. This is at 7 in the morning, as if I feel like doing that when i'm off sick. Got half a mind to in, in my dressing gown and cough and splutter all over everyone in the office. Didn't give me a chance to negoiate on the phone, literally put it down on me after telling me seven o clock.

Just refuse...as long as you stay in regular contact(the odd phone call) there is absolutely nothing they can do.

Just a word of warning, over here if you don't go in for your meeting they will stop your sick pay, so be careful..............although going in and coughing and spluttering over them does sound like a good idea.

Entitlement to sick pay is always subject to strict observance of the following conditions:

(a) Certificates of incapacity must be received by the business for all sick absences

(b) The business must be satisfied that an employee's absence is necessary and due to genuine illness.(c) The business reserves the right to refuse sick pay if an absence is due to, or is aggravated by, causes within the employee's control, or if the employee has neglected instructions given by a Doctor.

(d) An absent employee shall remain at their normal home address (other than to receive in-patient treatment) unless they have consent of their line or local personnel manager. Employees who are sick immediately before they are due to go on holiday must confirm to their Line Manager that they are going on holiday on the due date (unless sick absence continues and the employee remains at home). We also have to ensure that we are taking the appropriate steps to ensure we are providing the relevant support to our employees by using our health care professionals, Atos Origin. By maintaining this contact we can also look at alternatives. i.e. alternative indoor duties.

I don't see anything about illness management meetings in there DGP.

Go to your Doctor and tell him you feel stressed and depressed about being harassed back to work. Then get a sick note from him giving you a month off with depression.... see if the w*****s harass you again after that!
