Is there still a problem with the Magnum shoes/boots slipping and sliding?
All problems accident details would be much appreciated

Magnums were really bad for slipping, I have no idea whether they have updated them (doubtful), most of our office are now wearing either the Cat boots or Cat trainers.

much improved, i do prefer them through the winter due to them being well lined.
no more slips though.

There was a problem but after the old stock was used (has that happened) you should get the new stock with better soles.

I have found,like many from my office,that after wearing the cat trainers(shoes) for a period of time,the support in the heels is inadequate and you end up with sore feet.Has anyone else had this problem,or has it just been early the first issue of cat shoes as the pair i have do not have the royal mail logo on them?

I have a pair WITH the logo and haven't had that problem, so maybe it is an issue with the early versions. Personally I think these shoes are excellent and come in a very close second to the old Doc Marten Shoes we used to get years ago.

I’ve found the Magnums are still a bit slippery when new, but are much better than the Cat trainers which left the soles of my feet absolutely killing me every day.

same here the Magnum shoes & boots are fine,dug out the CAT trainers the other day for a 2nd chance,fecking feet were wrecked

Yeah I realise that but they have changed slightly since the ones issued in the 90s and are not as comfy somehow. Real shame.

Yes, you're right. But I still think they're a big improvement on the Magnum ones. And most importantly, they give good grip. So you won't end up falling, as soon as the snow starts to fall. I've not tried the CAT ones, mainly because I know the DM ones will fit properly (I need a wide fitting), and the Magnum ones were too tight. So I decided not to gamble on the CATs fitting me properly. But many of my Colleagues use them, and say they're great.

how many pairs are we allowed? been working like adog with rm for 3 months just been renewed for another 3!!! i got the dm boots but would like something a bit more comfy, can i get a second pair?

If you arder them while your manager's there to ok it then yes.

It might be different in Deliveries. But for indoor Posties, we're only allowed 1 pair per year, unless the Manager intervenes. It was a particular problem when the Magnums were first introduced. Because they didn't last more than a couple of months. So I kept having to go to my Manager to ask him to contact Uniform, to ok another pair. At one stage, I even had to turn up at work, with the soles held on with Insulation Tape (it didn't show too badly, because it nearly matched the colour of the boots), before he'd ok it. That's why I haven't risked trying the CAT Boots.
