Next round of pay talk

Post by Darren Bent »

Will there be a nice round of pay talk for 2011 for pay rise, pay cut, bonus and blackmail this year between CWU and Royal Mail. Is this delayed until next year ?

No - no pay talks this year as the 2011 rise was decided in the BT2010 deal - Also agreed was the 2012 pay deal but apparently both sides can go back and discuss it.

2011 - 1.4% increase

2012 - 3.5% increase (re-opener clause)

Yes it was.
Approach to third year basic pay review
Both parties are approaching the future with a positive expectation that deployment of this agreement will ensure that transformation is delivered, leading to an improvement in company performance and a successful and sustainable future for the organisation.
Given this, there will be an increase in pensionable pay, overtime and allowances of 3.5%. This will be revisited if the average RPI for January to March 2012 is outside the expected range of 2%-3%.
Both parties also recognise that there is uncertainty in the commercial environment that may affect the business in either a positive or negative way. Against this background it is recognised that there should be flexibility to reopen this element of the agreement in response to unforeseen events which have a significant impact on the business and its employees.

1.4 f%%kin percent. what an insult. VAT alone has increased 2.5% and everything else energy, petrol, food etc is rising quicker than 1.4 measly percent. This country is a f**kin joke. :dcfo :ncfo :vcfo :evil/mad

Mother in law who works for the local authority told me at the w/e that she's got a pay freeze for 4 years!
They told her and her colleagues like it or lump it.

Food for thought?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
