Get Rid Of The Strike Breaking Agency Workers
From now till Sept 4th we will be waiting with baited breath to see the outcome. Its hard to be too positive but despite feeling angry/deflated at the moment i hope for a successful outcome. In the meantime i would like to see...
a) Agency workers brought in to work during industrial action removed from offices
b) Good will restored - option to take lieu days restored
c) Overtime used to clear backlog rather than casuals/admin/managers
d) No sniping or harrassing people who went out on strike, other way around would be a swift harsh conduct case
e) everyone calming down and leaving the E.C to do their best for us.
f) no leaking stuff to the media from either side
If this works and we get a successful outcome then good times
if not then..
a) call one day stoppages once a month and then first week of December all out
b) remove strike breakers from the union (if their subs are too important then i cant maintain respect)
c) work to 318s without fail
d) Not only cease payments to Labour party but as perverse as it sounds offer them to another party

Re: Get Rid Of The Casuals
I disagree. IF we have to pick up where we left off, and re-start the strikes, why not continue with the rolling strike tactics ? The 2 one-day national strikes were ineffective, if we're totally honest. But the rolling strikes caused a backlog and got Leighton & Crozier to the table (unless you believe Gordon Brown leaned on them to sort this out before calling a snap October election). You'd have a hell of a job getting decent support for an all-out strike at any time of year, but in the run-up to Christmas ? Worst possible time to try to get an all-out strike going, plus of course, the public will turn on us BIG-TIME!MrSort wrote: If this works and we get a successful outcome then good times

I know that if we do have to call on people to go out yet again, in September or October, support will not be as solid as it has been so far. But don't forget, traffic levels will be nearly double what they were when we first tried to create a backlog. So, the way I see it, even if the number of people who don't obey the strike call rises sharply, there should still be enough disruption from those that do take part in fresh rolling strikes to cause backlogs that RM can't overcome, due to the higher traffic levels. At that point, if RM offer 'meaningful talks' we tell 'em "OK, but after that bullsh!t you gave us in August, the strikes will continue whilst talks are being held, to assist you in concentrating on the matter at hand. They will only stop when we have an agreement that has been voted on and agreed by the entire membership. Not before."

Re: Get Rid Of The Casuals
a) Casuals removed from offices.....
and you will always commit yourself to o/t to deliver the mail the casuals would have??? or are you saying that casuals should be given proper jobs, thus creating extra bodies to take some of that o/t??? Catch 22 case there mate.
I started as a Xmas Casual 13 years ago, and I'm happy to help any casual who has not scabbed with anything. Casuals are not the cause of our current state!!!

Remove casuals, an remove strike breakers from the union! You lot make me absolutely disgustingly sick. Shoot them. This aint time for hug a hoody cameroon attitude. As for me, since this strike started, ive become a magician, i've turned so much first class into 3rd class you wouldnt believe and i'm not the only one. As a mail centre letter/packet/flat sorter i chuckle as i think "it gets there in the end", as i slide a manchester item in the truro. True to my word tho, it gets there in the end (unless it go's via London if panorama are to be believe). The bosses know it too, how can anyone work properly knowing there's I/A kicking off!
Never forget whats just happened, these aint strike breakers for a day, these PEEPS ARE strike breakers FOR LIFE.

Re: Get Rid Of The Casuals
Thanks a lot. I had somebody at work today ask me if I could go and do the negotiations, as we'd end up with total capitulation by RM, which was a nice compliment, if a little far-fetched.DirtyHarry wrote:Carnoustie mate , that is so on target. That 'bullshit' video from Leighton was the best recruitment video the CWU could ask for. It's why I joined the union

You are effectively admitting willful delay mate, and it'll be you who is removed from the union, and royal mail, if you are caught... and do not count on the union or any other HONEST worker for support.moon71 wrote:Remove casuals, an remove strike breakers from the union! The strikes are enough to hit quality of service targets and what you are doing is nothing more than pathetic. Any customer reading that may well have changed their mind on supporting us.... well done.

Ok, i wont argue your point about willfull, but as im sorting on the packet frame an i see the short arsed female part-time scab sorting, who i see many times miss-throw into the drop fittings an can't be arsed to pick her missorts out, as she's so high as a kite to be getting 4 hrs scab o/t , i'm left wondering, who's the greater villain? Me who's striking for her work conditions, or her whos scabbing for her own pocket? Reply to that?

Since the strike started ? or have you always been so slipshod in your attitude to work! hence the comment overpaid for the work we do! its comments like this that give managment the ammunition they need to say we dont work well, perhaps you should apply for the post of M/C coach to futher the cause!

Apologies if any former casuals felt offended at statement. I didnt mean people who had joined Royal Mail as a casual and then had become part or full time. I mean the casual agency staff that have been flooding our offices purely to try and counter all the industrial action. So will use the correct term... Strike Breaking Agency Workers
