No back to work interview after being off sick

I was off sick about 4 weeks ago now, this has now put my total time off since joining RM (about 7 years now) into question.

I have been called for an interview to review my time off sick with the possibility of receiving a stage 1.

However, I have NEVER had a back to work interview, even though I was signed off by my doctor when I was off the other week.

Can they still put me on a stage 1 even though I have never had a back to work interview ?

yes, ive sat with blokes who haven,t had return to work interviews and got a stage, but use it to your advantage, say the correct procedures not used, and see how it goes

Have you asked your lino about it? He may have just forgotten they are pretty useless at the best of times!

I also only found out today, that Sundays and your day off count towards your total time off sick !!!!

Yes that is why if it is your long weekend and you intend to return to work on Tuesday, you tell them on Friday so the Saturday, Sunday and Monday don't count.

If they have never given you the return to work interviews how are you to know what is expected regarding attendance?

This is their procedure and i used this exact reasoning to get me out of a warning.

If your local rep is willing to accept go above him and get a divisional union rep,He will make sure no warning is issued,They have failed,Tough.

Then when its not issued,Go on the sick for a week

Why not a div rep? Who cares whether its for a stage 1 or stage 3. If your local rep is rubbish or not interested then a div rep may be able to help. Your £3 a week doesnt stipulate which rep you use for what case. They are all part of OUR/YOUR union so use whoever you can.

div reps cover huge area,s. if they went to stage one,s thats all they would do. as i said, quote not following procedure, and mention the grievance procedure if stage is issued.

You know ive never really got my head around this

With RM being so bloody anal with the total amout of sick per stage given i can never understand why Sunday (a non service day) is not deducted.

I suppose the way I see it is, you can't suddenly get better on a Sunday and then become ill again on the Monday !!
