coming into work this morning i was informed i hadnt confirmed a special at all on thursday and i was requested to go in to the office for a reprimand and i said i needed a union man in there with me and both are on annual leave the dim said she needs to do it today but i didnt agree can any union rep advise ? i delivered all specials before 1pm on the pda as im a driver thanks for any help

Anytime you are called in for a formal meeting with a manager you are entitled to union representation. Is it possible that they scanned all your specials in the morning but forgot to give you one? It's up to them to prove you missed on.

thats what i was thinking the phgs have a list of item numbers which are allocated to your walk id have to check that with union man

Oh I see, just blame it on the PDA then it must have crashed or something. but if the costumer has not complained I should not worry

Quite easily could be the PDAs fault as they don't always send or download completely and if it has been hard booted ( no not across the yard ) before the data was sent the data can be lost also happens if the PDA crashes. Never go into a meeting without a rep though

1.01pm is a failure!! customer can put claim in as it's clearly late.

So you delivered it but it wasn't confirmed?
If that's the case you should really only be pulled aside,questioned as to what happened and just told to be more careful in the future.

In order for them to know it has failed they must have the item number so ask to see the audit trail

this is easily available from any work computer and will show when it arrived in your office, which duty it was allocated to and what time it was allocated

that way you can check it was for your duty and it will also show when/if it was signed for and when ( by the customer)

you can also ask for the PDA details to be checked as it will show where the PDA was when it was delivered and whether it was your PDA

If this all checks out and it was you then I would expect just a talking to like Postman says ( unless you make a habit of it and have been spoken to before)

you are completely within your rights to ask for all this info - if they are accusing you then you need to know they have investigated it properly

we have the technology now to find all this out - insist they use it

Are your Reps due back tomorrow?
If not, request an Area Rep to go in with you, then you can get it sorted. If you phone your Branch, they'll be able to arrange it for you. If you let it drag on much longer the Manager will use that against you. But there's no need to be without a Rep. If there's no Local ones, you just go higher up, until you find one who's available.
