It wouldn't work, you'd only be able to sort anything that didn't get sorted the previous day. Most MCs don't dispatch anything to LDOs till about 03:00-04:00 ish and there is no way that DOs would get their letters even walk sorted if they had to be sent out to DOs that early.

all i get is 4.48 and im supposed to get a 20 minute break included in that ..but rarely do ..because im always running behind

There is always time for your break...it's the work you don't have time for and that's not your fault.
You are not running behind anything,your manager is using you to screw indoor hours from his budget.
Don't let them....take your break and cut off...it's the only long term solution.

I agree with you Fish regarding 5and half hours walk, but is this not part of the Agreement that there is no longer a limit on the amount of outdoor work, the only saving grace being that when your legs can take you no further and crumple under you, thats when Royal Mail are happy for you to stop.

I wouldn't disagree that the agreement is vague enough to allow this nonsense but as POSTMAN pointed out first you need the office to...."co-operate".
Now even if they could round up enough tossers to do the nightshift,i don't start until 0620....my break is at 0840 until 0920 so unless i was "co-operating"....how could they get me out the door for 0900?

1 of the lads brought mail back in his pouches say 3 bags.next day told him to take it out in a van at 7am and finish delivery then back to office. his walk was thrown in for him for same days mail while he was out del. thats progress??????? what amess!!!

Keep getting told mails down , oh thats why weve guys in on overtime cpl hours sorting everymorning! or is that because weve lost so many full time staff who are not beeing replaced by anyone!!!? A joke eh?
