1-- I had plans for Saturday

2-- I have taken 4 days strike action in support of an agreement....NOT TALKS THAT MIGHT LEAD TO AN AGREEMENT

3-- strike breakers haven't lost a penny, and many have gained Â£Â£Â£ through O/T...< < But the CWU won't KICK them OUT

Like allmost every one of you on here, I too have Wife/Kids/Finacial commitments

Loosing money for an agreement is worth it.....but just for TALKS is not

RM was on the ropes....If we had GRABBED them by the testicles and squeezed just a little so that it hurt enough that they wouldn't forget the pain for a LONG while....We would get a deal close to our vision of RM....NOT Allans "Pile it high, sell it cheap" WALMART version

We can't have it all our own way, but I'm sure we could have done better that what I suspect will be "The Way Forward II"

the union are facing the biggest challenge since the big strike in 71, the mere fact that royal mail are even talking is remarkable given the stance leighton and crozier were taking weeks ago.
we wont get everything that we want but we have managed to get the 7 d2ds and thesummer business plan knocked on the head,we would'nt have done that without industrial action.
as for throwing people out the union who worked during the strikes i agree they should be expelled but the union would have to watch for people claiming harassment.

I think we did enough to hurt RM; we got the shift allowance sorted to some degree, we kicked out the door-to-door agreement, in fact we got them back round the table, which is a miracle in itself after all the stubborness they were showing originally.

Nothing is perfect in this world, and I imagine without some kind of divine intervention will it ever be, but at least we showed them what can happen when they try to push us. I'm proud of the members in my office who stood strong during the strike and will remember that for a long time to come. I'm proud of those who turned up at the picket line to show their support and lose money over these issues.

I do hope they come to some sensible agreement after all this and start to put us on a footing for a better future at Royal Mail. Sites like this one expose RM for the beast it has become, and standing strong against the system (and doing your job properly) is something to be proud of. Just because the action has been called off, doesn't mean we have lost. It just means that something has moved, something has shifted, and this is because of all of us (bar the "non-union members" who went in) stood together and stood strong. Be at least proud of that, and hope for a better deal in the long run.

the shift allowance is only an offer, and, as my area union rep pointed out, they can still withdraw it. I won't believe it till I see a written agreement. I don't want to sound negative, but we all know the sort of jerks we're dealing with here. All we can hope for is an outcome that benefits the workers, seeing as the managers do alright!

PS: Bit peeved about Saturday, as we had a Bar-B-Q planned!!! ......Ce La Vie!!!!!

Leighton an Crozier bottled it, now i wanna bottle them. Heres an invite 2the twats, come to my walk, an you'll never walk again. As for the union, shoot them too! Back to work Saturday, wheres your balls. SHAME ON YOU, IT OUR UNION NOT YOURS. You can only return to work with a show of hands. Complete twats.

Swapped my day off which was Saturday with a mate so he could go the football(did this months ago),this meant when I finished today I wasn't due back in work 'till Tuesday.Told the wife and kids we'd go away this weekend,all plans on hold now 'cos I'm working Saturday now

They can't claim harassment, surely ? It's not an employer / employee situation. Members who act in contravention of the union's rules can be expelled from the union under one of those rules. If any of them don't like the rules, they always have the option to terminate their membership at any time

discussions are a fob off, look where they left the Fire Fighters, slick talking from negoitators doesn't win jack shite, it just buys management time, divides the strikers, descreases the willingness to actually fight and gives them the upper hand, afterall the only leverage workrs have is to withdraw their labour, it's not like management give too f***s if your grumbling whilst doing the work.

also how representative do you think the Union negotiators and big wigs are off the rank n file worker? They lose f**k all in an agreement, rather they get to look like 'reasonable guys' people to do business with (no bad thing for their careers eh?) whilst it's not their jobs or pay packets affected, even if they do reject the deal, it's bought management times, and depleted the willingness to fight.

Having leighton and co. forced back to the table to negotiations after they have been so adament that nothing in the offer would change surley has to be first blood to the cwu.

And we can all pat ourselves on the back and say we did that!
