Banking hours?
hi eveyone this my 1st post,im a part time postie & this week we had a flat tyre & had to unload then load a new van before delivery which made me 30 minuits over my duty time,i told mt line manager that i needed to book time&he said see me in the morning,so i did. i informed him i would need 30 minuits overtime from the day before&he said its very light today so you will make it back so you dont need to book?? is this banking hours & can they do it to me?? i saw my dom & he said yes its right cz the 2007 flexability agreement covers this for managers?? my union rep says they cannot do this! can someone please help me!!!!

Either they pay the 30 minutes or you put in a grievance.

Your rep is right
They cannot bank hours from one day to cover OT from another.
They think they can because the flexibility says they can ask you to work over 30 minutes 1 day and owe you that time later in the week. They are trying it on, basically when you suggested you would work over because of the tyre problem then they should have suggested the flexibility clause at that point. They cannot do it retrospectively as there is nothing in the agreement to say that they can.

Yes it is banking hours and no they can't do it.
Next saturday tell them you won't complete because you want to finish 30 mins early so you can go for a pint, and that you'll give them the 30 mins back on monday.
