Spare Tyres
Is it the responsibility of the driver to track the progress of the spare tyre from his/her van from the delivery office to the workshop and back ? surely it should fall to the manager to chase up the process

Re: Spare Tyres
There should be spare spares (
) in your office, just lift one (or come in early and steal someones from their van
).

Re: Spare Tyres
Blimey how other offices work,if there aint a spare tyre i'm sure it's illegal(or against RM rules),not 100% on that though, don't take the van out.cerirp wrote:Is it the responsibility of the driver to track the progress of the spare tyre from his/her van from the delivery office to the workshop and back ? surely it should fall to the manager to chase up the process

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Spare Tyres
The only spare tyres at our DO are around certain peoples waists!
Not seen a spare in the back of a van for years................think it was a Sherpa!

Re: Spare Tyres
we only carry spare tyres around the waist. If we hit a nail or get a quick puncture then the garage come out to us, otherwise we take the van over to get it changed when taking the mail to the m.c.

He's lucky the police didn't catch him, a fine and penalty points is what he would've got.glenfiddich wrote:one of our drivers drove his van back on the rims cos he couldnt be bothered to wait for garage

Re: Spare Tyres
We have a stack of wheels for punctures in the yard but none in the vans themselves
If its a slow puncture we normally pump it up hard (i know
) and hurry over to the workshop to get it changed why you wait
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Re: Spare Tyres
All the Combi vans in my day had the spare wheel in a bracket underneath the van
Has that changed then?

Re: Spare Tyres
We had someone, many years ago, in my old office who was lifting the tax discs from the vans and using them on his own vehicleLounge Lizard wrote:"come in early and steal someones from their van"DGP1 wrote:There should be spare spares () in your office, just lift one (or come in early and steal someones from their van
