leave selection

Well it,s January 17th and I havent been able to book my leave yet, what a farce. Wife has booked her leave and looks like I wont be having a family holiday this year. If it was done in October my wife could have got something to suit so thanks RM my children wont have a holiday this year.

go book your holiday its there fault if you look at the way forward agreement it states under anual leave

The selection process should be complete by the end of the preceding October each year.

and maybe a holiday together in 2012

i have the same prob in our office at the mo.

threatened DOM with a greivance today.

have 2 kids and a holiday planned in aug, got leave sheet last week and i aint got any time off in the summer!

still thats what sick leave is for.

No July or August for me either..............but then they cut the number of people off by 3 so that could be the reason

i was told that its down to the full timers not being flexible enough in our office and "i dont see why adam and myself (managers) should go out walking the streets"

thats give and take i suppose.

Still picking leave here too, what with the dim not handing out the forms till 1st week in December and the usual suspects taking weeks to pick. I also have to go all summer without a week off!

It is there POSTMAN. Section 4. ANNUAL LEAVE, Selection of annual leave, paragraph 2:
The leave year will be April to March. The Christmas pressure period, determined by the operational unit, will
be closed for leave. The selection process should be complete by the end of the preceding October each year.

I would think the get out clause is the word 'should'.

we had bigwigs in today along with a couple of union reps, i brought annual leave up and basically drew a blank.
union guy tried to fight my corner but said afterwards i should have informed him in november so he could have told them to get on with it.

Hi Guys just started our leave reqsts excuse was too busy with redundancies, bad weather and christmas so i reqsted 2 weeks pre summer this was dealt with based on the fastest click of the request button on system which didnt work for a lot of us and guess what the people that went through 1st appear to have got their leave , and out of all that i have reqsted i have been granted 1 day presumably that one day is when we will get the spring heatwave , now waiting on summer leave fiasco but yes youre right should have and could have been sorted pre christmas after all they got the christmas leave dealt with . I f i am not able to enjoy 2 weeks away in summer ive got nothing to look forward to ,which helps relieve the stress of the calls we take , maybe i should go to work and actually attempt to string myself up , mind you if i did that i would have to remember not to do so while on a call and to remember to put correct code in on telset,anyway keep smiling guys
