Part-timers Check Out Your Payslips

Some of the part-time guys from our office were checking through their payslips the other day when one of them started to check out his hourly pay rate.
It was at this stage when he noticed that the hourly pay rate he was getting paid, was less than that of the full-timers within the office and that he had to add on the delivery supplement he recieves to get the same hourly rate. Some other part-timers checked their payslips too and again this was the case.

Has Royal Mail caught all the part-timers out and got them doing the d2d's for nothing?

Has the CWU let us down again and left us to be treated differently from the full-timers?

Any part-timers who read this check your payslips.

We all do D2D's for nothing as they are now in workload, the delivery supplement is not for D2D's, but yes P/Timers check it out.

Yes defo get it checked out but the assertion does not make sense.

The "hourly rate" for me on the Delivery Supplement is: £20.60 / 40 is 51.5p per hour and my pay rate is approx £8.63 (I purchase leave)

So if PT are getting half the hourly rate £4.31 that s below minimum wage - and to make the same hourly rate the Del Supplement would have to be based on £172.67 for a 40 hour week.

I think somone has got their maths wrong, but it is always a good idea to get any confusion on pay sorted ASAP.

Its always a good idea to do so, otherwise they will be shoring up an expensive court case in the future, as had happened to many companies that have been taken to court for underpayment lasting many years, even now women are still fighting for equal pay in spite of the fact it is against the law to do so.

Some companies really do think they are above the law and its going to bite them in the arse.

as per my post it will be around £8.60 £8.90 an hour depending on how much leave they purchase - it should be the same for all permanent staff (ie not casuals, trialists etc)

im on 25hr and basic is £214.95 with out suppliment and i do but max leave (6weeks).

ok, got my head around the maths.

214.95 / 25 = £8.598 so £8.60 an hour.

im on a 24 hr contract, almsot 3 years of slavery , 24 hrs=£212.74 so £8.86 an hour, strangely though on the same payslip i worked 1.30 hrs overtime and thats 14.07, so £9.38 an hr lol

What is the hourly rate for a ftime postperson not purchasing extra weeks or doing any overtime.
I asked a ftime friend who reccons 9.37 is his hourly rate.
I am ptime and my hourly rate is 8.63 but I purchase the extra leave.
Does anyone know how much is paid back each week for the extra holidays been with RM for 10 years now.

Could anyone post the hourly figures for wages so I have a place to start from Thanks

full-timers get 9.37 an hour
I am on a 20 hour contract which works out at 177.10 a week giving me an hourly rate of 8.85. When I add on the supplement of 10.30 and then devide 187.40 (HOURS + SUPPLEMENT) I then get 9.37 per hour the same as the full-timers but they then get the supplement on top of this so is it just me or, are all part-timers getting shafted.

At £8.85 your hourly rate is better than mine as I worked it out at £8.63 (£9.37 & £9.15 with Del supplement)

My hourly rate is £9.07 because i am on a 39hr week or £9.60 with delivery supplement
If i was still on a 40hr week it would be £8.85 or £9.37 with delivery supplement
That is with no leave purchase.

Basic pay = £354.56.
This is £8.86/hr.

£9.37 per hour is your REAL hourly rate. This is the rate i am paid at for contracted hours (includes del supp) and for o/t when totla hours is under 40 hr for the week. This rate is confused/hidden by the daft delivery suppliement. Why dont they get rid of the supplement and say this is ur basic rate. See below how i got to this rate

25 hr contract
£8.86 per hr ( basic wage £221.60 / 25 hr = £8.864)
£12.88 per week Del Sup (£12.88 / 25 hr = £0.5152 per hr)
221.60 + 12.88 / 25 = 9.37
basic + del sup / hrs = rate


o/t rate is £9.37 up to 40 hours (contracted hours + o/t hours). Although i have noticed it fluctuate to £9.41 on my wage slips.

o/t rate is £xx.xx for 1st 10 hours after 40 hrs (dont ask me as cant rem last time i've had that on my wages. think its abt £9.61? maybe, maybe not, ok dont have a clue).

Plz plz plz let a f/timer come on here and say that i'm being shafted and that he/she gets a higher rate ( and no lies).

The above rate assumes u've done 12 /18 months in the job & are on a perm contract. I believe (but cant rem as memory fading) u get a slightly lower rate before that point.
