Scrap Clear Office Policy ?

Is this on the cards for near future.
Would it be good for RM. Would it be good for delivery staff.
Would it even workload, bring down need for overtime, make B&H less or more likely, protect or destroy FT jobs, make DM & WSM revisions work, protect 6 day USO, make job more or less bearable.
Thoughts Pros & Cons.

Ours has been scrapped for months.
As I'm usually the last one out, I get to see the all the letters/flats/packets that have suddenly appeared on the missort frame.
Last year the DOM would have thrown a wobbly, now can't care less and no we haven't had our revision yet!
We do get WSM though, but it still doesn't make much difference to the prep time!

They hold back mail in our office so those fools who run round have work to do when they get back
Those fools the other day said to me and a collague who got back on time oh you timed that well i thought it was common sence to pace your self mind you they are younger then me one day they will hit and there bodies will crumble

i had a coaching session last year for leaving one letter in IPS slot.

there are now thousands of letter/flats left daily.

dont even ask about packets! these are usually delivered within 2 weeks.

i do some ebaying and alway send via the cheapest option as i know for a fact it will be delivered just as slow as 1st or 2nd class.

Can there really be such a place? An office cleared of all due mails? On any given day of the week? In this very badly managed company we slave for? Where "Quality of Service" are words with a very hollow ring to them?

We might think there is, but despite appearances, there really isn't.

At one time we used work until all the mail had been prepped on the IPS. We now have a cut off time and the DIM walks along throwing Mailsort back into the York, if there's a lot. And we'll often leave a couple of Yorks of Flats that have come in on the last truck. These are sorted by the Cage staff if they've got time or anyone that wants a bit of Overtime when they've finished. I believe we've got bigger problems to solve that worrying about a Clear Office Policy! Can't remember the last time anyone was picked up for leaving a few letters behind.
