hi this is my 1st post in this forum & i have been a p/t postman for just 3 yrs and enjoyed most of it but lately it feels like i am being bullied in2 doing the absorbtion, when i 1st started i remember getting told that absorbtion was just on the lightest days and something you could fit in2 ur 1st bag, now some days its an whole extra bag & can take well past 1/2 hour because of travelling (bike).
i used to tell them that i needed to finish by a certain time because of school pick ups, so certain days i could not do it because it has been so busy (bloody catalogues), now i would like to point out that even though my finnish time is 2pm i would work up until 2.50 as i dont mind working late to finnish my duty but i do mind being forced to do the the absorbtion and making me work past my time, so now i have refused to do it out of princible. all i want is to do my job then go home
i just need some advice on my next steps

Work to your time. They cannot force you to do overtime but they might bully you too. Stand firm on your 2 feets.

Also if you or your guys start to cut off due to absorption then RM are going against the P&M agreement and it should be flagged up to area or higher.
They are breaking the USO in the name of savings.

everyday once you have finished keep a diary of any converations with management (would be handy to be in union too).
take your breaks and finish on time.
you will have to be squeeky clean for a few weeks but they always find somebody else to channel their anger on.
