Can anyone clarify exactly what the rules are for d2d's.

If they are not delivered on your day off or when you are on holiday - do you then have to take them.
Last week did not get my d2d's (5 lots) till Thursday (my day off was Friday), told by manager I could have this week to do them which I have been doing but not on my day off (they did not go obviously). So should they have?
Also my mate was on holiday last week and his d2d's didn't go and he's getting harressed to take them this week.

Technically they are live mail. If the Dom wants you to take last weeks & this weeks then that is what you must do.
However they cannot make you work past your time and unfortunately cutting off seems to be the only answer in these cases.
Just come in, throw in your mail and then throw in the 20% of d2ds the dom wants taken out and then as it says in the agreement
tell him that you wont manage within your time and that you dont want OT. Have a witness at this stage as it has been known for
bullying to rear its ugly head in these scenarios.

The reason we got this shite D2D deal in the 1st place was because the quality was so low in places.
I 100% blame the managers as it's their job to manage.
Turning them into 'live' mail was supposed to eradicate the problem.

A lot of managers in RM aint worth a wank.

Told today to forget about d2d as there was to much mail. That d2d will not be taken out next week just like the d2d that was left last week was'nt taken out this week.

DELIVERING D2D'S FROM 13TH OF DECEMBER THIS WEEK!!!!! THE UNION RESPONSE WAS "YOU'VE BEEN PAID TO DELIVER THEM ALREADY SO DELIVER THEM ". THE ONLY ONES NOT DELIVERED WERE THE ONES WITH SALE DATES ON THEM.

If the d2d was not done in your absence then you cannot be blamed for that or compelled to do a job which was not yours. Having said that, I came back from holiday to find one from the week before my holiday (xmas week).

I know it had been left by the covering postman but I have still done it this week because I am working the round and try to do the d2d because I had already been paid for it; if you catch my drift.

I just get fed up with managers not doing their job - stated before. My cover should have been made to do the d2d because they arrived when he was doing the round. Some people rush around leaving things undone, not done properly, trashing customers lawns/gardens, leaving gates open (yes) and door stepping left right and centre; but they are priase by managers and considered to be fast workers. My floater refuses to do kill off and some mess up your round by not doing redirections and some dont take packets and/or mail/mailshots/sky mags...

I covered an experienced (20 yrs) postman star-player* once and found mail hanging off letter boxes,; even a packet hanging off a letter box in a street where anyone (including leafleteers) could have come along and just take it. The packet was damp and could have been left there for a while (even by other postmen). Poor, IMO!

So can we get this clear you only have to do one sixth of your walk with door to doors a day? This is what i do and if they are left for any reason if i am not working that day its not my problem? Everyone gets paid the allowance so everyone must do a sixth every day if they are on a particular walk?

Well that's the theory .........
The reality is that if your rest day cover didn't do any D2D's, your lino can tell you to take them. They're are supposed to be treated as live mail, so your rest day cover is leaving him/herself open to a disciplinary. Then again, that's not your problem, it's down to your lino.
If taking the extra D2D's is going to take you over your time, see your lino before you box up. Then either book the extended delivery time, if that's what you agree, or break off and bring it back.

the max number of d2d you are allowed to take out is 6. dom told (shouted) this out during one of his morning info sharing / prep talks.
