ours has just been allocated and its a bit of a mess, i have approached DOM on the issue this morning (keeping it calm) but tomorrow is saturday and i can feel a war coming on.......

annual leave allocation
hi, is there anybody in here that would know of any document/agreement that states when annual leave should be allocated?
ie- october or november.

When I put my holidays in I first gave the paper in for my 1st 2 week block, then another for my 3rd week of which I put on 2 choices and finally a third paper with my 2 choices for my 4th week.
On getting my holidays back I had got the 2weeks i wanted but instead of a 3rd & 4th week I had handed in I have been allocated my two 4th week options because as they told me they didnot receive any sheet with my 3rd week on it .
Totally useless,now I have to go back and actually gat a third week I actually asked for.

I just had a quick look through it and it doesn't seem to mention a cut off date.
But i think the rule of thumb is November,but my office never is.

Selection of annual leave
The objective will be as far as possible to maximise leave opportunities for employees, whilst ensuring that operational needs and the customer specification are met at all times. This agreement covers selection of full week leave and part week e.g. holidays starting mid-week. Single days leave will be agreed locally through the Staff Resourcing Manager in Mail Centres or the line manager in other operational units.
The leave year will be April to March. The Christmas pressure period, determined by the operational unit, will be a closed period for leave. The selection process should be complete by the end of the preceding October each year.

Our first preferences have just been allocated yesterday. so probably won't be allocated until March.
