Anyone got a figure when it comes to drivers delivering packets and parcels?
i know it will depend on where you are delivering etc but what average are we talking here?
15-18 is what we are saying at our place, our Dom says more

24 packets an hour is the company guideline, this includes double/treble ups so if you have 5 for one address that counts as 5.................

24 is pretty achievable if the drops are close together, if spread out then 24 is very difficult to achieve due to travel time in between drops :)

24 is the 'official' line in my office too but that is nearly impossible, it doesn't allow for P739s, people not being able to find their front door keys (don't even start me on that) or any traffic on the road. Although the 70/80 packets I was doing in the run up to Christmas wasn't allowed any time to do them

Parcel/packet deliverys

Our drivers do all reg,firms,bag drops and parcels.

would say about 15 allso it depends on how big an area you have to cover but just remember that royalmail say that your safety is of the upmost importance

so no driving above the speed limit now

Is that humanly possible ?

I know I'm no mathematical genius , but if RM guidelines are that you allow each recipient 3 mins (answer the door/sign/docket) then that figure makes a 72 min total . Fair enough not all will take 3 mins ,but some will take more ,and thats without travel or do the new PDA's incorporate some sort of teleportation device

Where are these guidelines...............90 seconds is what we're told (sometimes I think the planners just make things up and other times I'm sure).

It takes as long as it takes.... If they ask you to do packets on OT agree an OT amount - 2-3 hours - who cares as long as its worth it for you (job and finish by the way ).. If its your duty time then it takes as long as it takes...a long time..

I don't think Johnnyp is looking for what pegasus/georoute considers feasible. on a park&loop delivery.

I think he was just looking for what his drivers were expected to do in an hour.

No honestly I'm struggling with this

There's an IWT, there's peggy georut ,sid an sara with all associated agreed/unagreed parameters and then you factor in local/national agreements tempered of course with your proximity to feeder mc and dependent on your mc modernisation level.
