Our DOM has been gobbing off for days about people cutting off, if you work over and claim you are a hero, if you cut off you're a piece of s**t...............

Well, 2 grievances have gone in today about our DOM, apparently one of which was witnesses by the area CWU Rep calling an employee a Useless C***, now I may be mistaken but he shouldn't be saying that should he?

I'm assuming he will be in tepid water to say the least?

I wish I worked in an office that had a bit more backbone. don't get me wrong, there a decent set of guys but will they cut off or refuse to do extra.....will they shite......I was the only one out of say 40 guys to refuse to take my share of a split the other day. what is wrong with people.....?

Fear, instilled by consecutive governments, and the race for cash to be able to bring some crumb of luxury benefit into what for some is a very meagre living. General manual pay in my part of the country is very poor and Royal Mail wages are probably the best you are going to get for manual labour. However that does not make it a good wage as a basic 40 hour week is not a living wage for an average size family. Without Tax Credits and working extra hours some would not be able to cover their outgoings, so there is no chance of getting them to work to rule.

The problem is....most ADR's owe favours to DOM's.
Usually because they've been in trying to save some idiots job at some point.
This is usually where the favour gets pulled back.

It's not a case of sucking up and i would imagine in this case where multiple grievances have gone in it will get kicked up higher anyway but you have to be a realist PM.
ADR's have to do some dirty work sometimes to keep guys in a job and sometimes it means putting them high horse principles away for the time being....i don't think there is an ADR in the country who hasn't been compromised by a member and had to give a bit more back than they would have liked....that's the way the world works i'm afraid....your place as well.
