official line on reserve' day off?

Can anyone tell me the official line on a reserves day off. I held a floating duty for over a year with a regular day off, but since P + L has come in i have been knocked back to reserve. With walks being taken by part timers there are not enough full time/floating duties to go round and as i am fairly low on the seniority list , pumped down to reserve it is.
I would just like to know if i am entitled to a regular day off each week with one in six Saturdays or am i going to have to make do with being told what my day off is one week in advance depending on what duty i will be covering.
My manager is being very vague about the whole thing and some strong words on the matter were uttered this morning, I have a life and like to be able to plan things more than 4 or 5 days in advance.

Reserves at our place sign for there walks the week before so they know what days off they have.
This works in seniorty at our place there is no rotate as far as i know so you just get your pick,you may be lucky and get a duty that has a Saturday off or you may get a Tuesday it just depends whos off and what gets picked.
Some places have a system where seniorty is not used for reserves(i dont agree with this)and a rotate is used where possible to give everyone a Saturday off as often as possible.

The fairest way,and i've posted this a thousand times lol is...

You get your reserve list in seniority order,and as each reserve picks their duty it is marked down what days off they have.
Over time you will be able to see who has had the Sat/Long weekends off.

On some weeks you will then have to ignore the seniority list and go to the 1st reserve who has not had a Sat/Long weekend off and they would get the choice of the Sat/Long weekend when there is one available.
