Sequenced Mail...

So, at the start of December we started getting properly (?!?) sequenced mail into our office. I guess they got the new machines working in the mailcentre. I'd get maybe two and a half trays of sequenced to my frame, and a tray or two of non...

But now, I haven't had ANY sequenced in like two weeks. Have they turned the machines back off? Have they broken? I was just getting used to it!

Our sequenced mail was a bit spotty during the xmas pressure but seems ok now! Could it be that they cant handle the failing volumes of mail?!

i run the CSS machines at my office, although we HAVE to sequence all the mail for the offices we cater for, when it's busy, we struggle to complete at times and can go over our finish time every now and again,
just to give u a little insight on the difference in time it takes to either walksort or sequence each batch (we might have 16-17 batches - each batch containing on average 7-10 duties),
to walk sort a batch = 4 to 7 minutes
to sequence a batch = 15 minutes on a light day, 45 minutes on a very busy day,
to walk sort a batch, mail only has to be passed through the css machine once,
to sequence it, it has to be passed through 3 times.
these machines break down quite frequently, and an engineer might have to be called out, this obviousley impacts on what time we have the mail ready,
any manager with an ounce of common sense (yeah...i know, rarer than rocking horse s**t) would say, "ok guys, i can see we are struggling to get the mail out in decent time, instead of sequencing it, walk sort it, and get it out much quicker", never gonna happen

sequencing has been a step in the wrong direction , yet another fook up by RM modernisation . i get 2 tray of sequenced mail now and the rest of the letters are sorted on ips whereas before i used to get at leat 3 trays of code sort .

this has rusulted in staff having to sort more mail the good old fashended way and with half the manpower on ips .

what a fecking joke .

to make it worse these machines have to feed a few offices and which ours is one of the last ones so don`t get the last tray until 9.15 and even then that van has a few trays of mail that haven`t even been put through the machines so it`s back on stack to sort mail that should of gone through the machine .

nothing suprises me anymore as every change is for the worse and every promise is guranteed to be broken
