later saturdays
i cant seem to find in the agreement if this is to be compulsory, been told today that the dom said its coming in around april, when we get the wsm in. but we can have a vote if we want to bring it in sooner????
(why would we want later sats full stop). anyways 7til 3.30 are supposedly going to be the new saturday times. i was under the impression that these start times were to be locally agreed.

Re: later saturdays
Your start time is depenndant on the arrival of your (second wave) mail from the MC (or wherever)
The time your mail arrives is dependant on where your office is in the Great Plan.
It isn't open to local agreement.

Re: later saturdays
It will depend when your second wave of sequence mail arrives and is up for negotiation. In additon the agreement states that the vast majoirity will be finished by 2:30 , most by 2 . Royal Mail during the talks with the union stated that 92% of staff will be finished before 1430.
Plus you are entitiled to the new attendance patterns which will give you less Saturdays.

Re: later saturdays
Bollocks, we don't finish by then now so when the start times get pushed back by 2 1/2 hours then there's no chance of a 2.30 finish.dingo wrote:It will depend when your second wave of sequence mail arrives and is up for negotiation. Re: later saturdays
we,re about 10mins away from the mail centre. hopefully that will go in our favour, but knowing rm, they will probably send it out to the outlying offices first.clashcityrocker wrote:Your start time is depenndant on the arrival of your (second wave) mail from the MC (or wherever)

No, the closer you are to the MC then the later you get your mail.daveyeff wrote:we,re about 10mins away from the mail centre. hopefully that will go in our favour, but knowing rm, they will probably send it out to the outlying offices first.clashcityrocker wrote:Your start time is depenndant on the arrival of your (second wave) mail from the MC (or wherever)

it doesn't work that way.in carlisle wave 1 (dg offices) leaves at 0430 and wave 2 (ca offices) leaves at 0500 so the delivery office closest to the mail centre will get their mail 1st.simples.wave 3 (dg again) leaves at 0530( but is usually late) and wave 4 (ca again) leaves at 0600.
who the hell invests £2 billion into a servic and makes it worse?????????????

Re: later saturdays
Not what we've been told (by the planner) we'll get ours last because we're that close to the MC, maybe if the MC staff actually did some work instead of spending their entire lives on breaks then we might get our mail in reasonable time.youwot!!!!! wrote:daveyeff wrote:why?DGP1 wrote:No, the closer you are to the MC then the later you get your mail.daveyeff wrote:we,re about 10mins away from the mail centre. hopefully that will go in our favour, but knowing rm, they will probably send it out to the outlying offices first.clashcityrocker wrote:Your start time is depenndant on the arrival of your (second wave) mail from the MC (or wherever)

they also split the ft vote down the middle with long or short deliveries and are going to put this in regardless
we have to remain on 1 in 6 sats off with longer deliveries on later starts in cdvs with said ptrs

You should have a number of options to vote on if you are going through a revision. This would be down to you lot getting your heads together.guvenor wrote:were not entitled to more sats off it was a con. pt in our office voted against sats to suit own needs they all think their being made ftdingo wrote:It will depend when your second wave of sequence mail arrives and is up for negotiation. Then those options get voted on by the CWU members in your office.

It will be a Monday to Friday job after privatisation.

How does that work...with a 4 day week?Royal Mail during the talks with the union stated that 92% of staff will be finished before 1430.
You would have to start at...0445.
Who starts at 0445 now?

Re: later saturdays
Royal Mail's workplan is cack.
There is no earthly reason why any postal worker should be tramping the streets on any Saturday at 2.30-3.00pm, none whatsoever.
The workplan isn't worker friendly, it needs changing, but for that to happen we need a proper union independent of Royal Maill, and not the "Quisling" union we're currently saddled with.
The CWU short changed it's dwindling membership when it cast aside one of the few things advantageous to most postal workers, early finishes on Saturdays, with no Saturday, not a single one, being a nightmare to work.
Thing is, what's next in the great CWU giveaway sale? Sick pay, perhaps?
