i cant seem to find in the agreement if this is to be compulsory, been told today that the dom said its coming in around april, when we get the wsm in. but we can have a vote if we want to bring it in sooner???? (why would we want later sats full stop). anyways 7til 3.30 are supposedly going to be the new saturday times. i was under the impression that these start times were to be locally agreed.

cheers,...we,ve already got our new shift patterns. a lot of us are on what we call a 3 over 4. working 6days a week at 8 hrs 50min a day for 3 weeks, then the 4th week off....suits me.

it doesn't work that way.in carlisle wave 1 (dg offices) leaves at 0430 and wave 2 (ca offices) leaves at 0500 so the delivery office closest to the mail centre will get their mail 1st.simples.wave 3 (dg again) leaves at 0530( but is usually late) and wave 4 (ca again) leaves at 0600.

Not what we've been told (by the planner) we'll get ours last because we're that close to the MC, maybe if the MC staff actually did some work instead of spending their entire lives on breaks then we might get our mail in reasonable time.

You should have a number of options to vote on if you are going through a revision.This would be down to you lot getting your heads together.
Then those options get voted on by the CWU members in your office.

RM don't tell you what you are having,the figures and you lot working your bollox off with them do.

Royal Mail's workplan is cack.
There is no earthly reason why any postal worker should be tramping the streets on any Saturday at 2.30-3.00pm, none whatsoever.
The workplan isn't worker friendly, it needs changing, but for that to happen we need a proper union independent of Royal Maill, and not the "Quisling" union we're currently saddled with.
The CWU short changed it's dwindling membership when it cast aside one of the few things advantageous to most postal workers, early finishes on Saturdays, with no Saturday, not a single one, being a nightmare to work.

Thing is, what's next in the great CWU giveaway sale? Sick pay, perhaps?
