Are P&L revisions still going ahead???

End of November in the North East all revisions were on hold indefinitely, even those only a week away from roll out.

And its gone very quiet on the revision front.

Our gaffer (canny fella though more of a number cruncher than a man manager) is looking more and more stressed.

We havent cleared the incoming mail on the primary this year so far, and I doubt we will tomorrow either.

But with only 6 or 7 on the primary what do they expect, my attitude is, if they want it done they'll put the numbers on there to get it done, cos I aint busting me arse any more.

our new routes have just gone up on the board (2nd attempt)supposed to start early feb, chaos about to ensue as a resign gets underway

i'm also in the north-east and things have definitely gone quiet,it's funny how the office managers appear resigned to failure,and are keen to distance themselves from what is a problem from above.

My understanding of our office revision is that either we come up with something suitable (to RM) or they WILL impose what they want and hints it'll be a lot worse!

Then again it appears that the senior men here are using this revision to dump all the crappy bits of their walks and swapping them for easier bits.... what can anyone do???????

Get involved with the planner, if you know the walks tell him which ones are too short or too long. Ours are pretty even as far as I can make out, I was halfway down the seniority list (no. 70ish with 14 years service) and got my first choice walk.

Ours is due to be rolled out sometime soon (it was meant to be this week). It will fail miserably on the indoor element, we already have walk sequencing and the first people ready currently go out on the walks 3 hours after starting. But after the revision we have only 2 hours to get out the door with less staff and more prepping.

One of our staff went to a local office yesterday that has had a P&L revision, between 3 of them they managed to do one and a quarter walks when 2 people are supposed to do two. He said you spend way too much time walking backwards and forwards and moving the van, it's just not efficient.

I'm in the North East too, and the latest we've been told is that everything is on hold and that all the planners are being called into a meeting in the next couple of weeks to address how 'well' all the revisions implemented Oct/Nov have gone.

Apparently they plan to review the times involved for attendance calls, moving vans between loops etc as they are too low and making planned duties impossible to do in the planned times.

Office down the road has 10 or so vacancies that they haven't filled because the revision would take jobs out has now been told to recruit, so someone must be expecting at least a few months delay.

Our revision was suppossed to kick in next week but is now on hold due to indoor planning, cant get the RM2000's changed in time. Its a bummer as i really looking forward to dumping my driving delivery (its getting broken up anyway) and getting back to a basic HCT walk.

Wonder what dingo has to say about these delays................more teething problems.........haven't heard of any problems with the "self starter" revisions.
