LONG STORY,,, JUST LOOKING FOR ADVICE,, IN HAVE A CASE OR NOT...
I was on a career break for 20 months,, in which in this time i was in contact with work,, all i was told was i had a job to go back to but where who knows,,,
any way in the time i was away they had 2 resigns,,which as i was not placed in a centre i was not counted,, i was in contact with them the last month i was due to return just in case needed to see me or ehs appointment as had back problems which was better but they wanted me see ehs,,, i was not told until thursday i was due to return to my old work place,,which was only 3 days notice,,and to be honest i was worried all this time in where i would have to go, and when i did return i was told the hours i was doing which was on paper 6-2 and they said as we only have 3-11 which was a whole shift change plus more,,,
Also,,,, i found out i was pregnent, they then said until you have a assesment then cant work but stay doing 8-4 until then,,,these was hours they gave me on return from career break,,,,,
so i was doing 8-4 awaiting for assesment,,in this time i was having to fill a work assment out which there was questions i wanted to put down and manger did not just was going over there heads,, in this time they was getting me to do cage cards on also putting them on cages,,,
Then the worst came,, i was feeling not right so went home,,and lost the baby,, i took a week of work then went back,, i wrote a letter to the big big boss
asking if i could stay on doing 8-4 as wanted help and support from family and freinds,,and if i did other hours they wanted me to do would not see my husband,,, he called me in office and said i have read your letter but that is not a good excuess to keep me on these hours as work is dying down,,ect ect
and said give me a reson why i should keep u on these hours i said because of what is and happened he said no give me another,,i said i am a hard worker,,
he said u prove to me this then i will consider it ,,,and let u know in january,,
so next day i worked but was ment to go for checkup at hospital which they said i had to go for op as stll had tissue and blood clot left for baby,, which to be honest was so sad as just wanted it all to be over,, that day was ment to have it but they could not find me a bed which had to wait a few days then had it,, i have been off work and am due to go back,,, and all i can think about is what i have been through and not seeing and being with my husband in which things are not that good,,,

Firstly, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your baby. In the main however, because of your career break, and the revisions now in place, it is doubtful wether you could actually insist on the early shift, but your boss at least has shown a little compassion, --and allowed that you may be kept on at the 8-4 shift. He has to allow for your more recent problems, too but best to have another word with him, but do you feel confident at this time you could go back full time anyway? All the very best, and hope things work out for you.
