Information Required, Please?

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.

I was wondering if there was any official ruling or guidance on RM's duty in terms of transporting an individual to and from their delivery? I don't wish to elaborate on circumstance but suffice it to say I am very much in need of some clear and concise information, if it exists (which probably isn't likely).

This is for a distance of approximately 5 miles, if the distance is relevant.

I'm afraid you will need to talk to your rep taurus.
Conveyance to and from delivery is very much part of your local office workplan and therefore subject to local agreement.
Obviously if they want you out they have to manage it and if they want you back they have to manage that to... all inside your contracted hours but above that you will need to seek local guidance....sorry.

they have to get you out but not get you back but if you had stuff to bring back then you do not finish till you have pouch back the items so if you are going to be other you time because you got stuff to bring back then they should get you if you dont want o/t hope that helps

It's not that crazy.
Some offices use public transport as conveyance...as long as it's reliable,you aren't paying and you are not expected to take your bags with you,it's not a problem...but the length of the bus journey will obviously have to be taken into account when determining the amount you can deliver....

Well, I'll be talking to my rep anyway tomorrow morning - this being a small issue beside another two. I shall also be requesting him as witness and moral support when I inform the manager that I shall be cutting off due to only having (in real terms) approximately two hours to deliver a whole round. That might prevent the kind of pseudo-bullying that allayed me this morning (which is one of the other issues).

Hi your DOM has to get you to your, first point of delivery by the post van give you bus or train fare of provide a taxi its not your problem its their,s
don,t hurt yourself struggling that,s why they get the higher rate of pay.

we get picked up by the van ,when this park n loop starts and 7am start time kicks in bin told theres a chance well have to get the bus in (more loss in wages).we were never told bout this in agreement!

Get your rep to put in a stage 1 disagrement , No agreement says you have to pouch off at a post office(unless it's a local agreement, which i can't of seen your rep going for). You can pouch off at the D.O. Why can't your driver just bring you back when he comes back???

The agreement to pouch off at a PO has been in place in the city where i work since before i began working for RM, that's 21 years ago. We have never been paid to go back to the office. Before they started closing them all, most of our walks had a PO within 5 minutes walking distance.

Same here...until park&loop came in but we always made sure we got the same 15mins travelling time built into the duties as "pouching off" time.
We deliver to 3 or 4 different towns and it suited the members to finish in their home town and stroll home rather than get dragged back to the office just to go back home to the town they had just come from.

If you don't use your car for delivery but you drive to work, it's no good being dumped 3-4 miles away and then being told pouch off at the local P.O Thats why the option should be there to have a lift back to the D.O. Car user once again thinking of themselves
