The Phantom 39 hour week

I seem to recall the cutting of full time hours from 40pw to 39pw was part of the great new deal that was so successfully won for us by our top union negiotators.

Anybody actually had this happen yet? Told by our DIM that they can't workout how to do it so it has gone by the wayside.

Tell them to buy a calculator, if they can't work it out for themselves. It's not Rocket Science! :arrrghhh

We've not got it yet, but we've been told we'll get it in mid 2011. Aparently, it's harder to work for indoor Duties. :confused

We've got it in our DO,knocked off 12 mins per day for a 5 day working week,start time now 06.12,neither here or there in my opinion.

do you not just take 12 mins a day from everyones working time? (over 5 days), obv if you work 4 days 15 mins a day. :arrrghhh

the time we get our 39hr week they will be negotiating something else. we have worked nearly 12mths. at40hrs they have gained again.

The 39hr week only kicks in with walk sequenced mail.
If you don't get that, you won't have the 39hr week yet.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

39hrs in my office and some are asking why?

Nothing royal mail said has changed in our office over the past month. 85% walk sequenced in our office, it never happened. Using trolleys to take the weight off your shoulder, it never happened. The bonus money if we accepted it in and union rep signed it off 6 weeks ago, it never happened. Winter leave for last year and this never happened due to too many staff off sick. The union rep doesn't really care any more and has got his share of the bargain by keeping his 3.5hr union duty intact.

in our section we have 2 seperate times to start and finish , i am a 4 day aweek 5.30 till 14.20 which incs ips and we havent finished till btw 15.30 - 17.15 and the other lads that start at 6.45 till 13.50 and some idiots have been comeing early and still not finishing till 14.30, so where does this 39hr week work any union rep to comfirm this?
