why dont royal mail employ seperate postie to do d2ds only

I've thought about this before, one bod doing 6+ d2ds on one walk for each day, he could come in at 10am, prep all it himself, then take it out and deliver it ( and get the bus driver / p&l driver for that round to come back and take out his drop bags if he needs any ).....5 or 6 hrs a day would be all you need - but hey, what do I know about the job, I only do it every bleedin' day

Probably be much cheaper and better for Royal Mail just to advertise for people to deliver them for nothing,but then again what sort of fools would agree to that oh wait...........

pay them min wage and you know theres going to be no shortage of d2ds in the office they could go anywhere in the postcode in their cars

Mail in one hand and D2Ds in the other......simples..................no extra cost!

Oh They do it with sequenced mail in one, manual and oversized in the other.

The thinking behind putting D2D in the main post is that letter volumes are dropping and it bulks up the delivery which seems to be a good idea unless of course letter volume is not actually dropping. I reckon it is so i would rather do D2D on the current basis than see my job go down the leg-side.
