Just about to go out and meet friends for a few and to bring in the new year. But I will leave you with this !!

The agreement does not have executive action , it has full involvement and it has a sign off to get the money why did some offices agree a revision which they thought would fail ?

You can blame the union for loads but why did no one go through the disagreement procedure ? No revison can be introduced by Executive action as it has to be discussed at national level in the event of no resolution at stage 3.

So the conclusion has to be that you are not using the agreement to prevent Royal Mail introudcing unacceptable things .

Imagnine if we did not have an agreement some of you would have got seriously rolled over.

The Union does not begin or end at 150 The Broadway it is about every unit standing up in unity getting the right deal. Some areas do this very well and some dont.

Some decide to go into the blame game blame everyone for their offices lack of bottle to stop things. Other ensure that offices do not get picked off and isolated and thats why some areas get better agreements. It really is stand up and fight or get rolled over.

....and some union officials would like to pass the buck onto the membership for a poor deal.

If the CWU is involved from top to bottom in these revisions with area reps monitoring and overseeing units and divisional reps overseeing Area Reps and workshops etc....as was promised.....
Why are none of these full-time release officials putting the brakes on these revisions especially pre-Christmas.

Our Area Rep...bless him stood up at our pre-vote meeting and told the members...how can i best put this....?

Dingo it was the union who sold this deal to the members, if the revisions are going in as agreed by the revsion process then our leaders are as much to blame as anyone for failure, Also your remarks about going to disagreement who is pulling the wool over whose eyes our office was told by the area rep that we could not go to disagreement and that had come from the div rep and that revisions had to come in at all costs, my thinking is there is a lack of understanding on this agreement from both the cwu & rm from the top to the bottom, it needs sorting and fast.

cheers dingo for your wise words, i'll think of them when i start to deliver my 6+ d2ds for nothing (gee thanks cwu) and try to deliver on these unacheivable workloads (thanks again cwu) and l'll especially think of them when the fatigue sets in on my 5+ hour walk (have i already said thanks cwu) and l'll have a big smile on my face when i think of you sat on your arse with a smug look on your face and etc etc thanks cwu and have a happy new year.

What happens if a D.O does not want delivery methods or any other revison for that matter and continues to reject delivery methods revision on that basis. Would not the CWU have to jointly take EA with RML? Its happened before on changes that have been endorsed via national ballot such as SDD revisions.

To answer your question dingo

Give it a go and see what happens on the basis of PIR putting right anything going wrong and on the basis that a delivery methods revision is not optional and some level of change HAS to happen.

The D.O in my cluster that has been given a planner and delivery methods revision has voted against the revision to a man Im told. No yes votes at all.

Aye, trouble is DGP, part timers only get one nostril full............but when you are paid the same salary as a manager....the sky's the limit.

There lies your answer Dingo. The union should be about unity but it cannot when some offices have reps and others dont.
Some offices stand up whilst others without reps get shafted.

As soon as you allow decisions to become local rather than national then some will be f****d and some will gain.
That is NOT UNITY and that is why the CWU will fall

Oh by the way Dingo, you want to try putting some resources into training up the grass root reps instead of blaming them. As a delivery office rep for three years, I've managed to get training on the Attendance Procedure

And no I haven't signed off any revision.

I second that statement,the last 2 weks have been almost impossible,the work load the stress its putting on the body,not something many CWU officialswould know about,especialy when we are being told things are getting better,depends where you
