Re: park and loop is it working
we have 4 sections in our office , our section went to p&l( no input at all in it) which took dom, planner, area rep 6 mths to sort out started the last week in nov which we knew and told them would be a bad time to start but it did what a f***ing nightmare finishing at 16.15 to 17.00 , no time for parcels, tracked, specials ,d2ds and when we spoke to cwu rep and he told us it would not work as they have been told to save as many hours as poss in the office , i think it could work with our input , but all there seem to be bothered about is save save . and not a better service or the h&s of there workers . oh just to let you know we got back yesterday after delivery and we had 8 d2ds on each frame for next week to deliver , should be a laugh , end of moan so happy new year to all.

Re: park and loop is it working
All these problems are down to bad planning, not a bad deal. The one good thing about this park and loop thing is that it is giving everyone an unachievable workload so we are now all in the same boat and can cut off without fear of harassment. They can't conduct everyone and say everyone is lazy.
The way to push back against this is to stick together by doing the job right and show them the exact amount of work they haven't budgeted for.

"stick together" No Chance.
What I have seen is everyone for themselves, anything goes as long as they aren't getting threatened by Doms.
Stick together, bigger picture, not a chance, easy life for No 1 is only priority.
It's all the unions fault not me honest

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: park and loop is it working
For the upteen time I have never said some revisions have not been disasters , some have , but the question which needs to be asked is why have they been agreed ? The agreement states that the revison must have full and systematic involvement at every stage , some offices have demanded and have been given time to test each loop before agreeing the revison. Yet others have decided to agree it without any testing who`s fault is that ?POSTMAN wrote:This question has been asked before, please see the longest thread in RMC's history...

Look the introduction of CDVs is possibly the biggest change in deliveries since the removal of the second delivery and was always going to have a huge effect. However the agreement allows you to challenge and negoitate the right duty set and the right loops for the introduction of park and loop. Why are some offices doing this and some offices not. ?
It is no good slagging off the agreement when some offices are failing to use the actual terms of it to ensure local revisons work. Now this is not an attack on local reps because area reps and Divisional Reps should be supporting this as well. But the fact remains if a revison is not working why did we allow it to come in and when I say we I mean the collective WE as the agreement allows you the opportunity to argue for the right duty set and to have the confidence that the revison will not be implemented by executive action. So the question is why have so many revisons been agreed which are simply not working ?
The plan in the new year is that all revisions which have been introduced must have a full report on if they are working , what mix of staffing they have , are CDiVs working , what attendance patterns have been introduced etc. Regional Managers and DIV Reps are meant to get the reports from the Local parties and supply them to the NDG. Hopefully we will get a full report on all the office revisons , as almost 600 revisons have now been introduced and as is normal you only hear reports about the ones which are not working rather than the ones which have worked.

No dingo for the umpteenth time...that is ONE of the questions to be asked.dingo wrote: but the question which needs to be asked is why have they been agreed ?
If you keep insisting it's the only question to be asked then you are simply looking for a scapegoat.
There is a whole list of questions that need to be asked of ALL parties involved in the failing revisions.

Re: park and loop is it working
Fishtank if something is agreed then the question needs to be asked why ? What benefit does an office get if they know the revison is going to collaspe ? Now I am not looking for any scapegoat and I am not intrested in blaming anyone. However it would seem many want to blame the national agreement or headquarters or even me , but I did not agree the revison .
Please lets understand why an office decided to agree a revision which was going to fail. There can be many reasons , staff want the bonus , staff want the attendance patterns , some full time jobs were on offer , or management was saying there was no alternative , management were threatening a worse deal or even management were threatening to increase absorbing.
All of those are reasons , all I am asking is why did some offices agree a revison which is now either failing badly or is a disaster ?
I have been someone who have been urging our National Officers to have a joint audit of all offices who have introduced revisons to find out why some have failed. I have been told this will be done early in the New Year.

Re: park and loop is it working
I would suggest the first step should be a members meeting with the divisional rep in the offices that are failing.
There is no point in getting feedback from the area reps involved since in most cases they were in favour of the revision going ahead.

Re: park and loop is it working
Simple answer is because they get worn down. Unless you are a very strong office with very good reps at all levels Management wears you down. They reduce the choices for duty patterns for "operational reasons", they start off briefing the worst case scenario, they mention the "bonus" payments constantly, they send letters to home addresses giving the good points about the offer. This happened for Pegasus 1 in my office and we were up for a fight - how did our previous ADR counter this - well he came into the office and said this was a good deal and we should accept it. Did we get support, advice or even a meeting so we could air our views with the Union - No. Did we get letters or emails updating us as to the progression of the implementation - No.dingo wrote:All of those are reasons , all I am asking is why did some offices agree a revision which is now either failing badly or is a disaster ?.
This is the reality of revisions beyond London where communication is better because its easier and more proactive. The concentration of offices also helps London, where mileage between offices is usually in single figures whereas here in Yorkshire outside of the big cities it is measured in 10s and even more.
