We've been told HERE that you divide the D2D by the number of delivery days. So this week there are 3 working days so 33% have to go out each day. As this is now incorporated into our normal workload any problems working them to time are subject to the normal cut-off rules.

My office has D2D'd dated 6/12/10 and so on, the Manager says they HAVE to be delivered at some point as they are LIVE FIRST CLASS MAIL and we have been paid for them

Ask your Dom how he wants them done if your not sure what to do.
If he says all to be done this week take half tomorrow and if that causes you to go over your finishing time check he will pay you docket or cut off on your time.
If he says roll on to next week do just that and you and your floater get them done between you in a manageable way.

Utter cr*p So my office decides that they want to do the "D2Ds" Monday to Friday. Is that in the National/local agreement?. So how does the above situation work then?
It is a watering down of the responsibilities of Senior Union officials down to a level where anything goes so long as the Union Rep and the DOM says its OK.
Some must live in a DO that is perfect model DO!

well this is exactly what the agreement states:

"The growth ambitions for Door to Door will be managed responsibly, and will be supported in the medium term by the roll out of delivery methods across units nationwide.

In the interim to ensure that D2D workload is covered effectively in line with this agreement, and in advance of units realigning duties through full revision activity to take account of D2D, resourcing of hours associated with the workload linked to D2D will be dealt with through locally agreed interim arrangements and reviewed through the weekly resourcing meetings in all delivery units. To aid the transition, offices that have not deployed delivery methods revisions will have to provide genuine and demonstrable solutions to any weight or volumetric issues.

In addition to the above special attention will need to be given to Bank Holiday weeks through the weekly resourcing meetings, units will also need to have agreed contingency arrangements in place for late arrivals."

Thanks for your replies lads, I haven't got a clue if we have a 'local agreement' our rep is on holiday but doesn't tell us anything anyway and I doubt my manager understands the local or national agreement!! All I know is that I was swamped with mail today and it now looks like I've got D2Ds and a day to complete them!

What is the limit on D2Ds now, is it still supposed to be six items max. as the trouble with carrying over items into the next weeks can mean that with the next lot coming in for delivery, it can and does put the number of contracts being taken out at one time over the limit. Any answers?

There is no limit to D2D....there actually never was a limit....only expectations.
That's what removing the cap means.
