absolutely agree , but the similarities stop where it gets to the "solidarity" part and the union commends their brothers for standing together, i believe our union reps would, condemn ?.

It's not the reps that need to stand together but the workers they try and represent, been there and done that trying to help people that say one thing and do another union wise.

Depressing is the word for it, if this is the future for us
under Ms. Greene then we are in for hard time of it.Was
hoping she was coming with a bit more savvy than the
imcompetents presently running RM into the ground.

It's not the reps that need to stand together but the workers they try and represent, been there and done that trying to help people that say one thing and do another union wise.

Members need to truly believe that no matter the outcome,good or bad...the union at the end of the day is on their side 100%....i don't think many feel that way at the moment.
Unions can't work miracles and sometimes a reality check is necessary but if members lose that feeling of solidarity the whole organisation starts to crumble...that is in my opinion what is happening with the CWU...the feeling of speaking with one voice has drifted away and so will the members.
Unions are unfortunately built and nourished on what are mostly unachievable goals but so are most things.
Too much reality can leave the membership with the feeling that they are simply agreeing to everything management throws at them...and then they start to wonder if it's worth it.

The Union needs a real organiser at the moment....someone who can focus the membership on the fights ahead...and there will be many..
Will they have to re-assess their support for an agreement which is deeply unpopular with the membership.?
A big question again.

Agree totally with you Fishtank,the members ARE the union and we do have to keep our
goals reallistic but the Chuckle Brothers at the top of the union have sold us a pup with
this agreement and there does,nt appear to be a real organiser within the union at the
moment so are we really up s**t street without a paddle.The future aint looking too
bright from where i am looking.
