I think it'll be bad on Wednesday (in MCs, Thursday in DOs) with all the Tracked and specials where people will have been online on Amazon, Play, HMV, etc, etc ordering stuff.

Loads of mail lying in GMC on FRI.morning , so i fear the
worst for the delivery office staff, if they don,t get humped
with mail on WED. then they will certainly get it on THURS.
Mail volumes processed this "pressure" can't be anything
like recent pressures but then again mail volumes are
falling are'nt they. Yeh and Hitler was just
missunderstood

It seemed on xmas eve that all the mail left in GMC was just brought to Cambuslang and left here.
We know we will be humped on Weds AND Thurs (and probably Friday as well)

if any DOMs want to stay alive for the new year, they would be wise to not put out D2Ds on Wednesday, there will be riots in the DOs if they do.









since it is supposed to be "part of your workload" just cut off if you cannot complete, its the DOMs and Linos problem endex........

Seems obvious we are gonna get battered, hope everyone keeps calm, works to time, cuts off. The pressure from above after New Year will be like nothing seen before, we should keep a calm head, it really isnt our problem unless we make it. The other thread running on "forced overtime" seems misinterpreted to me. The contract doesnt say you MUST do it,( how could it?) people need to stand firm.

it will heavy in the d.o,s on wednesday as well. on christmas eve at 2.30 pm, me mate told me there was 37 yorks full of mail, sky mags, holiday catalogues, and d2d, presumably it wont just be our office....happy days

We're not gonna get battered at all, calm down guys. Just think, if you get in and there's lots of mail and parcels, you're not getting battered. It's cold outside and you're getting a nice treat - lots of indoor work to break you back in nicely to the swing of things. You could be inside till 11.30 or some such ridiculous time, then you'll only have a couple of hours on delivery before you cut-off and then bang, you're off home. In fact, a day on which you get 'battered' is a far better day than a light one. Just follow the same parameters and you'll be able to cut off nicely and pleasantly in good time, getting home long before it's dark with a gorgeous mug of hot chocolate ready to warm your soul back up before another easy Thursday of cutting off.

Lets hope there is a thaw by Wednesday because the pavements are seriously icy round here. More dangerous than pre-xmas. But of course management will see the roads are clear and think its safe.
