WHAT EFFECT HAS THIS SITE HAD ON STRIKES

Post by TrueBlueTerrier »

Now I personally think the strength of strikes has been helped in no small way by this site and therefore by POSTMAN.

Why - well I get info on here faster than the managers at my local DO seem to and when people are talking about the strike I can tell them that places like Burslem, SE London, Portsmouth and all the others are working to their 318s and how that helps.

It also helps as all they can see in our office is piles of unsorted and undelivered mail but then I can point out that all DOs and Mail Centres are exactly the same.

So thank you POSTMAN and every single person who posts on this site, you have helped keep my office 100% out on strikes, and you have helped keep the support for the strike high throughout most of the country.

Please everyone take a bow. But most especially POSTMAN - You done good.

I will second that TBT, on previous disputes its hard to gage what other people in RM are thinking, everything had used to be heresay and second hand information, Burslem has always been a strong office with excellent reps and a good bunch of people and sometimes it has felt like we are fighting on our own, but thanks to postman we now know that a lot more people feel the same and are willing to stand up and fight for what is right... WELL DONE POSTMAN...UNITY IS STRENGTH. :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

As a source of info about other areas and whats happening it 'canna be whacked :Applause ,to be able to come on here and get almost up to the minute info like last weeks I.A is a great help, when I talk to lads in the office I always mention the site and I know that some of them have signed up,good to see that you are getting near the 2000 members mark, thats a great measure of success that ordinary postmen and postwomen trust this site to back them, unlike other sites or the tradtional media

You can tell it's done a good job when it starts to annoy people - and you all know who I mean.

On here we have knowledge and humour - two of the greatest weapons in the face of adversity - but above all we have the determination and balls of people like Postman and the much loved and verrrrrry scary L Thommo who give the site many of the things that others will never achieve - keep contributing and keep spreading the word. :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

I think this site has been great. We have had a lot more info from around the country just from coming on here. It takes a lot of hard work to keep a site going and POSTMAN needs congratulating on that. It must have made a difference to the dispute to the extent that managers are getting on here to see whats happening.

Kudos to POSTMAN for running this site! Deserves a lot of credit for taking the risk, and has my 100% support.

I have found this site is Fantastic Help during the IA....I have often relayed info from here to others in my DO who were otherwise wavering and unaware of the effect that the IA was having upon RM

I'm sure more would have returned to work if info from this site had not been imparted to them

In B.A. Barachas's own words..." Ahh pity the fool who don't believe in ROYALMAILCHAT "

I love it when a plan comes together !
I was sure I'd seen a bead of sweat on my line manager the other day - Until I realised that he had just brushed past me too close

As I have only been with RM for a year ( after years in the private sector, usually non-unionised  ), I have no preconception of how IA has proceeded in years gone by.......but I'll say here & now, that it has been utterly invaluable to have RMC to listen, learn, and laugh & I'm sure that without it, ( God forbid ) my resolve would have wavered once or twice.

Postman, I owe you my honour and heartfelt gratitude :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

I have also found this site to be invaluable for it's knowledge, experienced reps to answer questions when no one else can be located thankyou all. Also the lifts it gives when I have been low and depressed by Sc**s. :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause
