Not a problem at all! All the idiots took clawback, sensible ones went to the MC or IPS, Ones with spare days leave or wanted to go to the pub took leave! We were offered the work and everything was above board!

I`m trying to enjoy my vacation but your naivety (or BS ) is funny.
I know of a village post lady on 10 hr contract - last Saturday she was phoned by DO that no mail was coming out and she must have the day off and lose day A/L. Obviously she is not in the union so it goes unnoticed.

If Biker Mouse wants to be taken seriously then he should pleasure us with a copy of the ""National Agreement on Clawback"".

Its snowing outside and in the morning,if managment ask me "what option" do you choose the answer is clear ""Your problem not mine".

There is no national agreement on clawback, I know that and so do you, but if it's tried on by the management and a postie accepts it then more fool him! All I am saying is that the S'bury management did NOT order us to go home! And PK, the union rep, had already warned us that morning about the clawback, knowing the managers would try to get us to accept it. Also I don't see what is wrong with managers asking us what we wanted to do, rather than them tell us, after all we are adults and do have opinions.
The Postlady you speak about should speak to the management, what they are supposed to have said to her is ILLEGAL, to quote True Blue Terrier :Workplace closures
If no work is available to you (eg the office has closed and you do not work at home) then your employer cannot dock your pay or require you to take annual leave.

The second reason is that it undermines the unions position.
There is no agreement on claw back but Royal Mail would love to introduce this,along with the whole "banking hours" package....this would have a very serious effect on the part-time staff especially who rely on overtime for a reasonable wage....you can't pay your bills with banked hours...and you certainly don't want to give your employer the green light to turn off your wages any time they feel there isn't enough work..that's a slippery slope towards casualisation.

Agreed wholeheartedly! Some posters on here seem to think I agree with clawback and A/L insead of working! I DON'T! I came on here to point out that the management did not "order" us to go home and we were being docked A/L as posted by BDR!
