Worried about sign in/work hours.

Heya peeps.

Its now my second week as a Christmas casual and its going fine, except for one thing.

I am a little worried regarding the sign in-sheet/hours worked.

On my first day I was told to fill out the sign in sheet in a certain way, "fill out your alloted hours for the day, write how many hours it totals and sign", I asked if we should leave the "sign out" part blank till we sign out later on and was told "no, no dont worry about it, just write the time your supposed to sign out, in case you forget later".

So that is what I, and the other casuals have been doing each day.

I was also told by one man at the visitors desk (where I get my name badge each day) that because I sign the register "upstairs" i dont need to sign the visitors book, yet three days later a differant man told me I must sign the vistors book each time I enter and leave the building.

This has confused me enough, but thier is the added factor that a couple of days I have been told to go home early by one of the managers, along the lines of "You have done enough work today, you can go home now", I have quired this and said "Are you sure? I am supposed to work till XX", and have been told that its fine to go.

The thing is, I think maybe some of the managers think/thought us casuals were working a shorter shift than we are, and thus have been letting us go early.

I am worried because the hours worked dont corrispond on some days to the hours on the signed, sign in sheet.

This bothers me, I have only done what I was told to do, in the way I was told to do it, I have not intentionally tried to mislead or upset anyone regarding work hours etc. But technically, on paper, I have lied/misinformed people. I am not sure what to do, should I carry on and say nothing, or speak to somone about it, I dont want anyone to think I am trying to cheat them out of pay for work I have not done. Its awkward as I cant really argue with a manager who is telling me to go home, I have only been working here a few days and am not knowlegdeble enough about how its all supposed to work to fight my corner so to speak.

dont worry about it, the manager/line manager has the final say when you can go home its exactly the same for postmen that are out delivering can go home when they have finished there round! Also we use to have to sign in, when arriving at work but hardly anyone signs out, so i wouldnt worry yourself about it! xmas is a busy period all the manager will expect is that your doing the work correctly, your doing exactly what you have been told!

What was the time difference? You could be being screwed here.
