I agree with the comment above concerning parcels. No one is going to give a monkies this year about a few late xmas cards or their gas bill What everyone is worrying about are parcels for christmas day. It makes more sense to suspend letter deliveries and double up in the vans and clear the packets and parcels.

That's exactly what we did last year...and probably what we will do this year.
Today we suspended the rurals and sent them out on packets..they weren't happy.

last year we didnt go out on the 23rd as the roads and paths were too icy

on xmas eve they said everyone had to return to the office with there form lefts, but they dont care what time you get back, and they let us out early

i got back about 10.30 but there was a few who were back before me

Got a feeling there will be no chance of an early finish this year, after getting my heaviest day today on the same day we experienced the most borderline conditions to be out in. After the partial thaw on some Southampton pavements today, I'm expecting horrendous ice in the morning, a cycle I expect to happen all the way through to Xmas Eve and beyond.

Makes me wonder just how many on my section will cut off on Xmas Eve, leaving the managers to sort out the mess...

Do you think the Managers care about you, if you go the extra mile, come the new year when the D2D are hiked up and you can't complete then. Will they remember that you did your bit for the customers on Christmas Eve?
