Managers Taking The Piss in This Weather.

Got up for work this morning to find 5 inches of snow outside went to my delivery office and the managers was out side one in short sleeves gritting the yard for the town van to arrive and not for the safety of the staff.
We threw off our box went on the sorting then D.O.M makes a announcement over the microphone that everyone was waiting for.
Wait for it “Anyone who wants to work Today or Sunday sorting please come and see me" Naff all about the bikes or how you get to your walk or back in these conditions.
8.am still no sequenced boxes. D.O. M takes a van and goes to get them. He brings back about 13 out of 29. He tells staff tie up and go at 8 45 am, but if you come back early you will have to stay in the office till your finish time.
Those who has not got boxes he says will be on your frame when you get back, you will then have to throw them off.
Staff did come back early to be told go and do some absorption. Even though it was agreed because we changed our hours at such short notice there would be job and finish and no absorption over Christmas.
Some came back well early and done absorption and still went home with 45 minutes to spare.
Others came back threw their box off and then were told go get your absorption now.
That is taking the piss. Staff that done absorption and threw the box off was detained till their finish time. Staff that got their box at 8 am and delivered came back done absorption and then went home.
Correct me if I’m wrong here Ladies and Gents but if we all get paid till 2pm we all work till 2pm why is some exempt.
Well there will be trouble ahead now. Next time I go over by 5 minutes I book overtime.

IE:The national agreement is 3:30hrs so you do no more,if you have had a revision and it's 4hrs ect then you only do that.

POSTMAN!!!! i here you say 3.30 national agreement for delivering outside is this true? cos we just been told that our revision is going through and some deliveries are 6 hours plus long . please please please clarify this as we have no union rep at the moment and the managers are tightening the screws big time on us .

After you have your delivery methods revision you don't have a MAXIMUM delivery span unless you're stuck with a bag(tenements).
Your span like the IWT is a planning value giving you an OPTIMUM delivery span.
So if you have 2.30hrs indoor..30mins travelling...40mins meal relief and 10 mins at the end you have a 4.10mins OPTIMUM delivery span on an 8hr day.

...but if any of those values change like your indoor drops to 2hrs your OPTIMUM delivery span increases accordingly.

Ok,i understand that you have had your revision and you are going through the motions.
Are you saying that your del span will change on a day to day basis?
And where would the extra work come from on the light days?

The impression i'm getting on here is that peeps are agreeing to say 4hr del spans (after the revision process has thrown that up)and that's it.
