Can anyone tell me why Amazon are sending everything out as tracked,I am one of two drivers in our office and we have to do all the tracked and specials.Today was farking murder,cos we have to do drop bags,firms and then a rural.I feel theres a bit of p1ss taking going on here by the men at the top.Whoever agrred to this wants taking into a field and shooting.Yet another case of taking the money before actually thinking about the logistics of it.

I ordered a pair of headphones from Amazon last week and opted for the 5 day free postage. They came within 2 days and were tracked, dont know why i didnt pay any extra? I scanned them myself

I thought tracked cost the same as 2nd class?.... they would be mad not to use it, a service almost as good as special delivery for a fraction of the cost!

Drivers down here are doing mainly tracked in the mornings and leaving most oversized packets and squiffs for shotgun runs in the afternoon.

AFAIK Tracked is cheaper then 2nd class. I thought it would only be a matter of time before Amazon moved all of their none special delivery RM stuff over to Tracked and I wouldn't be surprised if they were to continue to send anything that isn't a special out by Tracked.

On a related note I've noticed that very slowly some customers are moving over to using Tracked Next Day so it'll probably reach a point where instead of the early shifts in MCs processing the outward Tracked it'll have to be the late shifts which will have to process it.

TBH it's no more difficult than delivering normal packets but they have to be delivered by a driver with a PDA.

TBH it's no more difficult than delivering normal packets but they have to be delivered by a driver with a PDA.

We are at the stage now (and last wek) where Drivers take Specials and Tracked items only, the Parcels etc
are done by O/T and acouple of the lads with Hire vans.

If not you have to write the tracking number every time as tracked items dont have peel off stickers unlike specials and recorded

Now that you have pointed this out, the Royal Mail spies looking on here will bring that up at their next meeting and pretend its their own idea to have a peel off purple tracked number!

Wait a minute I just thought of that! or a PDA that prints out the number/time/date/attempted deliver just like the Parking Attendants have and stick it in a bag/envelope posted through the letterbox I'm on a roll now, Management here I come!
