D2D came in on wed been told by the manager do your 1.6 a day and do the rest next week. I thought the d2d should be done mon to sat not wed to wed. before the 2010 agg if your d2d came in on wed you got 40% exta or you could refuse them as they have failed. does anyone know the correct procedure on how to deal with this?

If the D2D came in late then its failed whether or not it came in on tue or wed. D2D's have a date of which it has to be delivered from for e.g monday the 13th to saturday the 18th. You deliver 1/6th a day and thats it. I hate it when doms decide to change the rules just to suit themselves.

As d2d are now classed as live mail, you should deliver 16% per day so effectively you deliver from the day you recieved them through to saturday.If your office as gone through the idiotic changes like ours at Barnsley you wont have time to do them, ours fail everyweek.

The growth ambitions for Door to Door will be managed responsibly, and will be supported in the medium term by the roll out of delivery methods across units nationwide.

In the interim to ensure that D2D workload is covered effectively in line with this agreement, and in advance of units realigning duties through full revision activity to take account of D2D, resourcing of hours associated with the workload linked to D2D will be dealt with through locally agreed interim arrangements and reviewed through the weekly resourcing meetings in all delivery units. To aid the transition, offices that have not deployed delivery methods revisions will have to provide genuine and demonstrable solutions to any weight or volumetric issues.

In addition to the above special attention will need to be given to Bank Holiday weeks through the weekly resourcing meetings, units will also need to have agreed contingency arrangements in place for late arrivals.

so its is all down to the agreement you made with your dom, and could include more than 16% per day or even carrying the whole d2d over onto the next week if agreed with the walk bundling centre(who would be in contact with the customer)

I also don't get the problem with doing D2D full stop.
If a manager comes to me and says do 100% D2D i say fine....where do you want the bit of my duty i won't have time to deliver?
It's all live mail so what do i care how much of it goes into my frame on any particular day?
It's not difficult to manage...it's just people seem to have difficulty getting their heads around the whole "working your hours" thing.
Once they do/if they do...these "problems" will largely disappear.

People need to forget that they own their duty and that the amount of work given to it each day is the duty holders responsibility.

This ended in 2007 with Croziers demand that "everyone will work the hours they are paid".

So do just that. Work the hours you are paid. Dont work the hours you are not.

Do as your asked,work your hours,no overtime let them get on withit.E.g.Use your car to get to your work place,only.No early prep,start on time.prep all daily mail (d2d).Break down mail pouch.get van out and back.Then smile as you walk away from the office to your car.Do your time your done no crime!!!

When we got in on Monday Morning we had sheets in our pigeon holes telling us we had door to doors this week but none has appeared as yet on the Monday or the Tuesday. So guess what? They have come in (Today Wednesday) asked the manager if we just deliver Wednesday and Thursday and Friday and Saturdays as normal he replied ”No its catch up its live mail you will have to do Mondays and Tuesdays as well” its only one lot most posties have, but what if five lots came in today or one lot came in on Friday that would give us no time at all.
Its a piss take now, they never done this before when we were getting paid because they would have to pay us a extra 20%.
I asked my union rep today what’s the scenario on this he agreed with the managers decision.
Anyone know any different on this. I’m sure this was not agreed nationally. If they come in late its Royal Mails problem not mine.
