Early morning delivery of Pcls/Pkts.

Been told im going out to deliver pcls/pkts Sat morning at 0615 with the brief "if theres a light on knock on the door,if the house is in darkness just slip a P739 card through the door and slip away".
Correct me if im wrong but wasnt there a big rumpus about posties leaving pkts behind back at the DO and P739ing the customer.Surely our managers are in breach of RM guidelines.
Could anyone give me some ammo to throw back in their faces ,thanks.

Yep your not allowed to be knocking on doors that early, i think the licence doesn't allow deliveries until 7 am.
and you certainly shouldn't be shut noticing items that you haven't attempted to deliver!

Yes,there was a big rumpus about it,also we are not allowed out to knock on anyone's door until 7am at the earliest and besides it is still fairly dark so therefore a H & S issue arises.I think you will be lucky to get anyone up at that time anyway,I've done parcels/packets before on a saturday and people are still in bed at 10/11 am (no smutty comments please).

I knew a Parcelforce bloke who got punched in the face for delivering before his correct time. Still does it though!

I would NOT be happy if I was woken by RM attempting to deliver a box of lightbulbs, attached to a shower adaptor and a Persil washing ball!

I got sent out at 7am today with Tracked items. Got rid of all but one despite all the sliding around on unlit icey paths. Can't believe 10 years ago we were always out then!

One guy in his dressing gown said there was no need to knock so loud. Cannot wait to P739 future items for his address - at the customers' request!
