Hire Van Radio Code

Anyone know of a site to get radio key codes. Ive got a hire van (vauxhall vivaro 60 plate) for the next 3 weeks to do packets. The radio needs a 4 digit code to work. Ive phoned the hire company to ask for the code, who told me they were aware of the problem with the radio and were waiting on vauxhall sending them a new code. Driving around for 10hrs a day with no radio is got me talking to myself.

The codes are usually stuck on a bit of paper in the manual for the radio. Have a look in glove box for any manuals. If not 5467 is my guess.

What's wrong with that You should try doing it when walking around (at least in these days mobile phone headsets can at least reduce the nutty factor).

It's when your talking to yourself and you suddenly spot someone staring at you that gets me.

Personally if I had anything to do with transport in RM I would disconnect every radio in every van. Van drivers tend to sit in the van longer listening to cricket, football and cup draws as well as news bulletins. That's why I'm waiting for my bags through you lot doing this..

Try an MP3 player Pat it certainly helps the boredom Trouble is I listen to a lot of comedy sketches and you can imagine what the public think when they hear me coming down the road pissing myself laughing!

Still works if you're in a van and stops the, "Hang on a minute I want to hear the end of this..." scenario. Eric

Go to Halfords buy a set of Radio removal pins ( about a fiver) sometimes it's printed on the back of the set, or try 0000, problem may be the radio is locked out because the wrong code had been entered too many times.
It's also illegal to wear a headset whilst driving, even in one ear, especially if it's plugged into a mobile phone for music

My cousin who just happens to be a traffic policeman, it's classed as "driving without due care" with that blaring into your ears you are less aware of what is going on around you and could be unaware of warnings given to you by other road users ( ie: sounding of the horn).

Also the majority of sunglasses drivers wear are not suitable for driving, as they stop too much light and impair vision http://www.theaa.com/public_affairs/rep ... asses.html

TBH the 'driving without due care' offense can be applied to anything the policeman thinks of at the time but unless you're doing something that attracts attention (ie. really bad driving) then wearing earphones is not something to be pulled over for.
