It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

we've all been preaching it on this site for ages now, I've seen posters from the moderators up on our union board several times and we've all had an official letter from the CWU saying the same thing, but the message isn't getting far enough quickly enough. . . . . . so what do you suggest johnnybignose, how do we "step it up" :hmmmm

We need....

Post by deadbox »

We need a short guide to display / and / or keep in our pockets, that state's exactly what is required of us ( quoting agreements etc. ) about what is rerquired in sticking to your 318

Then members will know what their rights are.....

What a manager can reasonably expect from an employee.....

And what can be said to a bullying manager, when he states as FACT that you can't "CUT OFF"

We need this on a national level

MANY don't KNOW what their rights are....AND as such they do NOT challange managers who state LIES about procedure in order to get the postie to stop out and complete

**MANY MORE PEOPLE WOULD STICK TO THEIR 318'S IF THEY KNEW THEIR RIGHTS

***FEWER MANAGERS WOULD LIE IF THEY KNEW THEY WOULD BE CHALLANGED OVER THEIR DECISIONS

FACT : When our CWU reps NOT in, Our managers take advantage of this and bully / lie to the majority of the office...even if you think that your in the right, most people comply with the managers instruction so as to not lay themselfs open to a charge of "refusing a reasonable instruction"
I was sure I'd seen a bead of sweat on my line manager the other day - Until I realised that he had just brushed past me too close

but surely it's just down to us, who do know these rules, to spread the word and make sure everyone does

we can't keep relying on the union to hold our hands, we as individuals, are the union and must take our responsibility seriously

make a point of speaking to everyone, especially those newer members, and letting them know who to ask if they've any questions on what they can and can't do . . . . . . it's not a bad idea to direct them to this site for advice if they're not happy to ask within the office for any reason
