It is a clever psychological trick if it's true and groups RM and CWU in the 'same boat' with the same interests. This trick will go hand in hand with RM coercion tactics and training to make sure they have reps in the palm of their hands.

Some of the older guys in our office still were them. Just a sense of pride and respect for the job. If one happens to be the union rep so what! He could the biggest thorn in the managers a**e but because he wears a tie you think he wants to be one of them. GET A GRIP!!!!!!

I've asked this in previous posts with no answer. Anyone know why the Management doesn't have to wear a uniform? (I don't consider crumpled shirts and shiny trousers as a uniform) I think they missed an opportunity with the introduction of the new uniform. Managers could have been given nice grey trousers and RED shirts!
If you're trying to encourage a unified workforce working towards a common goal then a standard uniform surely makes sense. I won't be stupid enough to mention anything so unobtainable as Morale, Team Spirit or Esprit de corp
