just say to your line manger that you will go on the other duty but as you dont know it you will probably have to cut off so which duty you do you are going to leave mail as you wont do over time good luck

I am afraid at local level we are struggling against this new tide of cr*p, with apathe in the staff and only a few
willing to stand up against them!!
This 'working together' is a load of bollox I have seen an even more disrepectful attitude towards the CWU local reps than ever!

Yes true and i always do, just wish everybody did it and my job would be a damn site easier!

The bit that gets me wound up is the bullying attitude of being taken off your delivery because you wont
bend down and take one up the harris!!

just go on light duties that really annoys them.
management are not consistent, each approach is very different to each person.
they are possibly scared because the royal mail wants to cut managers, so they take it out on postmen.
drivers are always treated the worse.

Yeh I have been told this .our office is knackered with mail all year round so I tried there old flexibility rule cause I knew I would never work and they would always owe me time.that didn't work and I was told if I couldn't do my duty I was to blame not mail levels.so at xmas cause I'm now officially a troublemaker I have been told I could be sent anywhere and I must work my day off.can anyone tell me if they can force days off to be worked. God I hate this job now the constant lies are stressing me out.

How are rural duties different from town ones out of interest?

How are rural duties different from town ones out of interest?

With usually just house names or people names to go on the rurals can take a lot longer to learn than town rounds
who generally have mostly numbered houses in streets.

D'oh, of course! wow come to think of it I grew up in a village and I don't think that a single house had a number they were all "Rose Cottage" or "The Old School House". I'd hate to see a frame full of that sort of stuff!
