Ordered some stuff off Amazon a while back and got one today.
Now i'm not a tree hugger and planet saver type of guy and i'm keen on RM making a good profit,but what happened today is quite unbelievable.
The box below was what it was packaged in,it was a £5.18 'CALENDER'! AND it was sent tracked!
20" long-14"high and 10"wide.

I've never had anything Tracked off the Ammomeister. With us being off delivery, I've had a go on the PDA and delivered some of the Tracked stuff in the past week, and have to say it's quite ridiculous, some of the things that are sent Tracked. Things the size of a letter that could just be posted through a box. I've done everything this week apart from deliver though; collections, packet run, trackeds, bigger specials, etc. It's good fun, piss-easy job you drivers have got though .

Why doesn't RM introduce a system where people drive around ......and deliver the mail as well?
We could go out, say 2 to a van with lightweight trollies, and deliver stuff from the vans.
We could do away with "conveyance" "replenishment" and dedicated "packet duties". The drivers would have to do a proper days work like the walking posties and RM would make enormous savings.

i had an optical cable from amazon sent in a huge oblong box ..it could easily have been put in a small bag ..and posted thru the letter box

play.com also done the same with things like small hard drive and stuff which mean it is a big square cardboard packaging which is too big for 95% of post box.

They might be running out of some box sizes. At least one good thing about Amazon, you can now view the track and trace via Amazon's website (like you've been able to do for stuff they've sent out by Citylink for some time).

Like all good scientists I base my ignorance on observation.
Whenever I get back off my duty absolutely knackered, there is always a gaggle of drivers standing around "having a break".
In fact they always seem to be having a break and quote some arcane laws regarding breaks between driving duties. If they drove HGVs I could understand it but a Fiat Bipper probably doesn't merit a 2hr break for every 30 minutes driving.
In fact the only people who have more breaks than drivers are Mail Centre workers.

Came by a yodel courier who uses a small van,and it has come 3 days later than RM and it was despatched at the same time!
Competition eh,we piss all over them.
Also the dude was in such a rush after he knocked he couldn't wait the 10 seconds it took she who must be obeyed to get to the front door as he was already in next doors garden ready to give it to them!
