Does anyone have a link to the available uniform. Are waterproof trousers available and/or anything to stop snow getting into the feet?

Wear decent boots ( ie, NOT RM issue - if you have 8 hole Docs or similar that will be fine ) apply dubbin to the leather ( if you have any ), put socks on, followed by plastic carrier bags ( 1 each foot ), and then boots....job's a good 'un

Lol winter uniform? I would be greatful for ANY unifrom!

Just wear more layers, there isn't really a Royal Mail winter uniform anymore. Wear a vest under your shirt, a jumper over your shirt and maybe your fleece under the storm proof. Buy a pair of good fingerless gloves and a thick pair of socks. Cat boots or DrMartins but apply a coat of polish to make them water proof or the snow will soak through as it sits on them. That's about all I can think of really.

Maybe some old boys might remember a winter uniform? When I started the storm proof and harringtons had removable liners but not any more, probably to save money but they were very handy for keeping warm.

Seeing is believing to be honest, some people in our office are still wearing uniform from 15 years ago, mix and match style, wish they still did the thermal coats though, they were great all year round.

If you still have the body warmer then wear it, it'll be under your outer coat so who's going to know?

I wear about four/five layers of my own and then shove the RM fleece on top of them when I get to work. It makes me look fat and stupid like the rest of the posties in my office but I keep myself warm. Waterproof stuff is much more problematic especially on the bottom half. The boots have a remarkable ability to keep water in but not out, and the trousers are very good at staying wet for long periods of time, and of gradually turning a dashing shade of purplish-pink after prolonged exposure to wet conditions. I've got my own waterproof that I use for the top half, I just stick the hi-vis over it to make me look Royal Mailified.

They took my tie off me.....and my shoe laces and my belt.

had the same problem as you last week. feet were like blocks of ice at the end of my delivery on wednesday due to them being soaked from snow. Got myself some Grangers waterproofing wax, worked brilliantly, nice dry and warm feet for the rest of the week. It's about £2.70 per tub.
