I don't think there is an RM spokesman as the same generic quote has now been received by a number of newspapers separated by a considerable span of distance. I suspect that this is another of the copy and paste responses that Royal Mail secretaries have at their disposal when an e-mail is received, including but not limited to 'the continuous fall in the volume of mail has led to blah blah' and 'although x and y do not work, customers are reminded that our Special Delivery (TRADEMARK, TRADEMARK, TRADEMARK!) and Recorded (TRADEMARK, TRADEMARK, TRADEMARK!) services might actually allow your letter or parcel to reach its intended destination if you're really lucky'.
Otherwise, it's just another day in park and loopy paradise.

Which xmas 2011,12,13 or 2014 . Maybe he means 2015 when mail volumes have finally dropped by 40% and then our duties might be somewhere near achievable .

People are leaving work as late as 1pm, and are out till 9pm at night and still arent clearing. People are going home with stress, and 1 man started crying and broke down at is frame!

May I also add that our planned P&L start date of just after xmas has now been suspended awaiting further notice
My mate works at one of those offices mentioned & says its really gone tits up.
There was a write up in the local paper last week,people kicking off about recieving their post after tea-time,RM got a good verbal kicking for bringing in P&L so close to Xmas.
they have done this in quite a few office now i mean what kind of numpty change the way an office works at the busiest time of the year no other business would do this no wonder we are loseing money ha ha

Our dim lives in leyland and keeps saying it's just teething problems with p&l! when will the lower middle and higher management realise that it ain't working under current rm terms?

I think that 2010 agreement is an absolute discrace have done since the minute i saw it. But, anybody still out delivering at 9pm really has to take some responsability for themselfs......go back to the office then go home!

Rumour has it that the DOM at Leyland is taking early retirement as a result of the changes.............lucky him, and good luck to him - he was a decent old school type bloke.
Now I wonder who is going to be his replacement...................Leyland if I recall has had a number of Doms in the last few years. You can pretty much guarantee it's going to be a jobsworth

I'm sure his opening speech will be something along the lines of "i'm the new sheriff in town and i'm going to clean this place up"...followed by the swift realisation that he isn't up to the job and an even swifter retreat to his office to hide until his transfer comes through.
I wish i had a fiver for every time i've heard that speech and seen the subsequent failure.
